Hahahahha shit, thanks for all your input dudezzzz. I'm currently sorting out my entire life this week so it's just rattling around in the back of my head for another few weeks
and if you throw in rack mount units, then everything gets fucked.Bacchus wrote:Priorities, man.
Sort out guitar, then amp, then pedals, then accessories/cables/picks etc, then entire life.
how does sound move through them if theres no airBacchus wrote:custom made oxygen free patch cables.
You take that back; you're making late 80s Adrian Belew cry.Bacchus wrote:To be honest, if you're playing with rack-mount units, you probably don't have much of a life.
I'll be sure to ask Kevin Shields the next time I run into him. I don't think he fusses about oxygen free cables though.Bacchus wrote:To be honest, if you're playing with rack-mount units, you probably don't have much of a life.

Don't even consider this, the AC4 is one of of the worst sounding amplifiers I've ever played through. My friend used to have one that I'd use for rehearsing, it was terrible.Doog wrote:"ooh, just get the cheap AC4 one, or just leave it; my amp sim sounds plenty good"
I totally agree with this, an AC30 or an AC15 can sound good at bedroom levels, ITS CLASS A MAN!Gabriel wrote:Don't even consider this, the AC4 is one of of the worst sounding amplifiers I've ever played through. It sounds like you want the AC15. As someone who's ended up buying/selling a fair few amps, go with the amplifier you really want, otherwise you'll just end up regretting it. Also the normal channel on a vox amp is part of what makes them sound special.
AC15s and 30s (remember when I first joined this forum I had an AC30) sound great loud and quiet.
This. Without a second thought. Buy the best, buy it once. My DRRI does bedroom levels and gig levels just fine, and it's pure quality. AC15 is the Vox equivalent.benecol wrote:And I say get the AC15, because it's the best one and still sounds great quiet.
BUY CHEAP BUY TWICE LAD.
Yep I agree, the AC15 is better and quieter at home. It can still be cranked up and the tone cut is so useful.singlepup wrote:This. Without a second thought. Buy the best, buy it once. lolz I wasn't going to, the cheap price wasn't enough to get over the squareness and the single tone control. And the fugly looks.Gabriel wrote:Don't even consider this, the AC4 is one of of the worst sounding amplifiers I've ever played through.
