That's kind of a cool idea, but in the wrong place, should be below the control plate.

But too much work unless you're making the guitar from scratch.

Shad's idea is better, and you can also get a square one with 4 screws.

Looking at the real parts, I think that photoshop might be too cramped IRL but one could probably be made by eliminating the tone knob and using a concentric pot for tone/vol.

This sounds like a profitable idea until you consider 99%+ of teles would still have that hole on the bottom

This was common on Japanese and European teles:

dammit guys the thing came with a big routed out hole in the bottom of it already.

anyways i got the cup to sit in there. but now i can only get it to play very quietly with the volume jacked up all the way on the amp.

An Electrosocket will fit in your existing rout, look right, and be easiest to fit.

THIS is one great option-- the other is to put the jack in the metal control plate on the front of the guitar and get rid of your tone knob (which is what i did on my esquire)

Came from a LP. Sorry about all that messy shit and the screws being like that. It was an emergency mid gig repair and i use the tele pretty much only when i need to play some blues.

Buy a plate for Les Paul like above only plastic one. Some Affinity teles came with them
