People have the same issue with the AVRI trem:

Maybe shimming the neck up and raising the bridge would give more clearance at that end.

That's how mines setup and is issue free.

but do you do as much grindy-grindy, tremmy-tremmy moves and dives as george? sounds like his palm is almost surgically attached to the reverb handle.

It's shimmed for a TOM and the tailpiece is closer to the bridge like a Classic Player. It definitely doesn't catch.

Also dots, it's the high e string so don't think hybrids are going to help.

I really think this is about certain strings (brand/gauge, as well as scale length possibly)

i don't know that i'm convinced of that. you sound averse to heavier strings, but maybe putting a 10 or even an 11 (just the E) would yield different results? just spitballin

Heavier gauge strings would help but I like 9s. What I mean is hybrids wouldn't affect the problem string, unless I went to 10 gauge hybrids which wouldn't make sense

Changing up one string would fuck up how it feels probably.

Anyway these EBs are doing well after a week at least.

How are you getting on with this George?

They’re still going strong and honestly sound pretty good after daily playing and regularish rehearsals. I’ve made a few changes to the guitar since the demo though: swapped the roller bridge for a regular TOM and adjusted pickup heights a tiny amount, so the next demo won’t be completely accurate.
