All of the new ones at the top of the list seemed to be £39, yeah. I'm not bothered if the quality is a bit better than the first batch, I'll be sticking them in my effects loop once I've actually got round to building it anyway.

Nice. I didn't see that price thing until you mentioned coinage and I had to figure out where you got that from. Very cool. I'll probably get an Echo Machine for recording/dicking about.

I disagree entirely with the ethics of it, and that puts me off a lot. I'm not saying I've researched every company I buy from or anything, but this is very very obvious.

I do hope that it means other pedal companies will think about lowering prices to compete though, that would be a great result.

They won't lower prices and keep the "quality" the same. They will probably keep prices the same and move down a rung on the manufacturing ladder. So products made in Japan, Tawain, or Korea will move to China or Indonesia. Some companies are already doing that.

Like Behringer.

Anyone who thinks the companies charging more than Behringer are operating in some uber-humanitarian way is fooling themselves. As far as I'm concerned Boss has noone but themselves to blame. People demanded they reissue their popular discontinued effects and they didn't. Someone else did and much more affordable prices. They fucked up. Plain and simple.

It's capitalism in motion.

What's gonna be really fun is when they start cloning synths and modeling ep's. Its just a matter of time.

That would be so awesome. An Alesis Micron clone for under £150. Squirt alert.
