i wouldn't say i'm exactly the opposite per se, but you'll almost never find me using reverb in my tone live.

mickie08 has a tiny terror, and i think he's gigged with it. i know for sure it was used at the last albq, and all reports were that it held up very nicely in that room. i was quite impressed when i jammed on it.

while it wasn't as good as oter more expensive oranges i've played, i really enjoyed mickie08's tiny terror. it was plenty loud, had the nice responsiveness that oranges have, and as far as tone controls go, there are handy knobs on most guitars.

Sounds like great fun overall. I guess at gigging volumes it'd be too gainy for my taste, but I think I'd really enjoy piling on the fuzz at home.
Gonna go to the shops and try one as soon as.
Incidently, is the Tiny Terror the only amp of it's ilk? Does anyone else make, say, a 20 amp all tube head for not massive bucks?

Not really twenty watters, but there's plenty lower down the scale - like the 5 watt Epiphone Valve Jnr and the 2/4watt Matamp MiniMat.

I guess I am being called out.....

Yes, I have a tiny terror...

Yes it kick Ass

No it does not have mutliple eq knobs

No it does not have reverb...

Having said that, I own a 72 fender super reverb which DOTS will tell you is in almost new shape and I will gig the orange over it in most cases.

Also (as DOTS will confirm) I play rhythym guitar and sing in a very melodic rock band in a situation where I use a primarily clean guitar sound. I use a Taylor t-5 or a G&L tele through some pedals, but I use the amp for clean. You can gig with this amp fine. It will have a little color on the clean sound at gig volume, but not really overdrive. It sounds great. It is not a twin, but hey.... the whole point is it to be the anti-twin...Low volume capable but full volume usueable.....

That's fine and good, but Doog has said that it doesn't do cleans at all way more times than you've said it does do cleans, so he's winning.

maybe....(which is why I said it's not a twin.... and have said that I prefer a little color from the amp.....) That is why I also love the super reverb...At proper volume, it is not much cleaner than the orange... My personal opinion is that why use a tube amp without at least a little saturation.... But that is just me....

It all depends upon your style of music, playing style, guitar setup, pedals, etc as to how it will work...

Either way... I know of few other amps that you can play at bedroom level with great tone, and then go and gig with. Are there better options if you don't care about how loud you play...HELL YEAH....But if you want an amp that you can play at home, record with, and gig with easily...it works...

I have played probably 15 gigs with it since I got it 2 months ago with no volume or tonal problems/limitations...

I've yet to own or play live with one, but I turned the master volume up and kept the gain way low in the store and it wasn't what I'd call "clean". I guess it all depends on how loud your band is.

Maybe you were getting power tube breakup and had some play left in the preamp that could have been used? i.e. Volume could have come down a lil and preamp up.

I would say not to get a Nano Head because it's very expensive for what it is. I'd get a Tiny Terror and use your Hot Rod Deluxe speaker with it.

i have a cab with 15" speaker in too so I'm set that way, i would probably buy second hand because I'm cheap like that. a nano sold on the bay for 130 quid yesterday. for that price is it a good amp? I'm thinking a tiny terror over it though because i trust your opinion and you haven't shut up about them in months
