New body and pickup arrived today, going for a silvertone feel on this...
Thoughts on how I can get the fret board darker?
Need to rout the neck pickup deeper, custom guard, and deciding on a bridge. I kind of want a fender bigsby but I'm also cheap, thoughts?

You could probably just lemon oil it to get it darker, most of my lighter rosewood boards have naturally darkened over time with finger oils.
Here's a before/after with Fret Doctor oil
And if you wanted to go extreme (watch the binding tho):

Is Fret Doctor particularly good? It doesn't seem to be that easily available here, only saw one place selling it after a quick search and it was £18.

Here is my latest, got this les paul trad faded on the cheap, so it's going blacktop with some mystery pickups
As it sits now, electronics stripped and ready for that refinish on the top
Baked maple?
An to help figure out if it is baked maple
And the killer price for a basically new les paul (it was bought and almost immidiately returned, then rented once)
And the goal...

Challenge accepted - 65/67 mongrel Stang.
Body varnish and stain stripped and sanded today, will refin it in red lacquer. Currently looking for some screws, vibrato springs and a '65 to '67 pickup. Tuners are on their way.

that jazz bass bridge cover doesn't look right on it..... and it covers up too much of the strip action, which i think really sets the body off.
that is an MJT body right?
