I always liked that one, it has a great design and mixes elements very well. I see a lot of custom guitars on the internet and most of the time they just look like mish-mashed.

i think the blocks maybe tip it over the edge into nudie suit territory. it'd go well with a pair of snakeskin cowboy boots though.

Naw even the inlays are cool cause the color of it really goes with the guitar. A lot of times you'll see people use greenish or cream MOP and it just clashes with the rest of the guitar. I like the large inlays because I feel it fits with the spirit of the guitar.

It's a nice guitar, I just think you'd have to go the extra mile with your outfit to pull it off. Trucker cap and scabby jeans just won't do.

This is mine.
It is a bit of a mystery guitar. As far as I know, produced by an English maker named Jim Button. There was a tiny bit of info about him on the inter nets about 5 years ago when I bought the guitar but nothing now (a heavily under construction website I seem to remember, that actually described him as being erratic ). You can kind of see on the last photo (sorry poor iphone shot again, my camera batteries are in my mouse, and it is a while until pay day!) that he wrote "oops" on a mistake he made while routing, which I've always thought a nice little touch
Like most people here I don't think of my self as much of a strat man and I've played 5 or 8 fender ones including Japanese and Americans but hated the neck on all of them. The jim button, feels pretty good though (I'm really a tele player at heart) and it has the best unplugged sound of any guitar I've ever heard, hence it gets a lot of in the middle of the night playing from me.

I think it's a 'serviceman' strat.

Good call, it definitely looks that way, especially with the lack of Truss.
Still, the Mustang trem is a good look!

I was bored so dug out my spare GFS bridge saddles that look like this...
and replaced the standard block style ones on my Squier. I'm actually amazed as they give a pretty big improvement in tone and can I finally set it up as per the proper 4/64" action spec. I always thought these "vintage correct" saddles looked crap as they have no weight and are really thin, but how wrong I was.
