Since the Sunn trade did not go through, I got this puppy. It sounds damn nice.

It vs. a holy grail?

I've looked at both, what are your thoughts?

I really loved my HG+. I traded it for a ribbon mic because I basically needed that more at the time. It's a fantastic pedal and I actually went looking to replace it, when I went to the shop today. They didn't have any more, so I checked the FRV-1 out.

Bottom line: if you want access to a couple different reverb types, get the HG+ but if you only care about spring (like me) get the FRV-1. I think it smokes the HG in terms of spring.

So today I got my switch on my danelectro fixed and also had a kill switch added on, thanks to the quick handy work of bill. The kill switch is the lower one.

Image

I also picked up my friend's DL4 that he had fixed and his mammoth clone (grey box, it was the one I used to have, I sold it to him and he had it rehoused) anyways, playing with 2 dl4s at the same time is an amazing thing. I think I might eventually get a 2nd one.

Image

also, greenweenie how do you like the RE 201? I haven't played with one in a while but they have always interested me

So is the 2nd dl4 temporary? I imagine with some mad tetris skills you could fit it on the board

Oooh I've been thinking of getting one of these, especially now it looks like I am going to buy James' Bassman.
Any chance of a demo? Or more of a description as to what it can do?

You mean the RE-20? I love it. I don't need a lot of delay but I like the sound of multi-tap delays plus its got decent reverb too. Needs an isolated power supply though and I had a One Spot for the longest time so I wasn't able to use it until recently when I bought a PP2+. I haven't tried playing with the expression pedal controls but I guess it would be fun.

It looks pink but it's actually purple. It's a Menatone King Of The Britains V3 clone.

that chorus actually took the place of my delay. not enough power cable things for that damn gator borad. I LOOSED THEM?

actually sorted it out (kinda):

Image

cavalcade of the unloved off to the side. i wanna get the great destroyer back on my board but it's very picky about what other pedals are in the chain.

Image

haha note the arion tuner velcro'd to the side of my board in that second photo.

Did you try out the memory man behind the reverb? I know I would loop some muff-reverse reverb goodness. Also I'm not familiar with TGD but theoretically you should be able to put it first in line without any issues but there's no teling for sure with that monster

great destroyer is unpredictable. i couldn't use it in the same pedal chain as the mudhoney back when i had it, before or after. the gate would go mental.
generally it's a pretty safe bet after the booster but i haven't got around to adding it back in.

memory man will soon be post-reverb too.

i use my mmwh after the reverb, the normal delays don't sound so good after reverb, but i have other delays before the reverb, so i mainly use the memory man for looping and more "spacial" delays. The memory man is actually going bad, not turning on and stuff like that!
You should try the super fuzz after reverb, and set the reverb to really long plate settings, i wast hours playing with that setting.

I received benecol's Memory Boy and Moog expression pedal today and have been messing around with them this evening. Lots of fun, but going to need to spend a lot more time with them.
Anyway, rather than move my pedaltrain around, there were a couple of my other pedals I wanted to play with again so I built a second board out of my currently unused pedals and put them on the Diago showman.
Here goes:
Image
In the bypass loop: Behringer Slow Motion - Boss HF-2 - Dano Tunamelt

Big board and little board:

What I want to do is move it around so that I can use the bypass loop to link the 2 boards together if I want to for ultimate excess!

What happened to the Harmonic perculator?

Current board set up. I decided to throw the regenerator back on there, the step phaser is such a great effect. I still want to sell it but its fun for the time being. Im liking my set up more and more as each day goes on, I can't wait for the MBM fuzz factory to arrive.

is clutter an issue when you move your board out to a gig?

not nit-picking, actually curious. i couldn't stand that about my board, broke down and got lava cables now everything is tidy above and underneath.
