Reverb + Delay wrote:Anyone in the States seen the Blacktop Jazzmaster at a GC yet? Returned my CV 50s Tele and am considering options for replacing it (might go with MIM Tele--exciting, I know). GC's site doesn't show any of their stores having this in stock, but their website isn't always accurate.
Well I know they are in stores as I played one at Bill's Music House... I'd call ahead and see. Guitar center has 15% off this weekend with this coupon: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Promos/Clai ... rce=4TP0JM

So it's a good time to buy it, that knocks it below $400.

I'm going to start calling in a few minutes.

I got that same GC mailer, but it excludes Fender, along with Gibson (damn, no Nickelback signature now), Epiphone, Gretsch, Ibanez, Jackson, Martin, Squier, and Taylor, some Vox, Marshall, Orange, Mesa Boogie, some Roland and Boss, etc. Typical GC exclusions for a sale. Shocking, isn't it?

trust me, they will let you use it on a fender in store. They have to list that shit to appease their contract with fender, but when it comes down to brass tacks they'll make the deal.

I have not seen any at the Dallas or Plano GCs. Let me know if you find one.

None of the GCs have them in, but I did play a Jazzmaster today. I have to say of all the guitars I've tried in the last two months, the JM, along with the Jaguar, was/were? the most comfortable for me. Maybe it's that it's offset? I placed an order for a BT JM today and was told ETA was "a few weeks". Bummer that I have to wait, but I feel I made the right choice.
