Hello, everybody.
I'm new to this forum, my English is terrible and I don't have any shortscale. But I lurked here for some period of time and at the moment know more about shortscale universe than I used to.
Could you tell me more about Squier Cyclone? What the neck shape does it have? Some people say that it is thin and narrow, another that it is thick and narrow. What is a fretboard radius? How does tremolo work, is it stable enough? Or it's better to block it and forget about its existence.

As I understood Cyclones available only in US, that's a pitty.

I bought one for my son, the neck is fairly thin but thicker than, say, my Japanese Jaguar. I'd put it at a typical Strat neck. The trem I never used and my son hasn't either, I didn't even give him the bar for it, so I have no idea if it's good or not. I tightened the springs and haven't seen any issues with stability with non-use, though. The fretboard radius is a typical 9" strat radius.

my experience with the cyclone neck was that is bigger than my jag-stang neck, about the same size as my 69 compstang re-issue neck. its a comfy lil guy for sure.
the trem is a standard 6 screw strat trem. just set it up and you will be fine, are you able to find one to try out? or do you have to order one online and hope that is comes thru ok?

to Mo Rawka Cyclone II is for sure a great guitar, but I'm afraid that I'm looking for something cheaper.

robert(original) the second variant is more probable, there are two guitar shops in my town and no Squiers at all. To be honest I prefer chunky necks or almost chunky - I have middle sized palms, but fingers are long and thin. So Gibson style necks suit me perfect.

pens yes I see. It seems that regular Strat necks are not bad for me. I'm not tremolo user too, haven't had my own tremolo equipped guitar, but I want to try.

Thank you everybody for your replies. I'm not about to buy one right now, but I'm GASing a little bit of Cyclone because of the Mustang appearance and the Gibson scale. If GAS is not dissapear, I'll try to buy it. If I don't like it, I'll try to re-sell.

As far as wanting a mustang typed guitar but wanting a bigger neck the cyclone is def your best option, unless you went the toronado route, tho you said you were looking more on the cheaper side of things.

I would definitely rate it as a "buy" guitar, due to how cheap it is you can't really go wrong with it. They really are nice guitars. Not as nice as say a Fender Japan guitar, but still pretty damn nice.

We sometimes have squirrel flavour crisps. I don't have ketchup on anything other than horrible burgers, even then it needs to be matched in equal parts by mustard.
