I think those DD pickups are hit and miss kinda like everything else. I have had some good ones and some bad ones of the same model before

Top horn looks a little slimmer on the Jaguar, but I'd be willing to bet that they're reusing those conversion necks. Can't wait to snag em all up on eBay, those necks are fantastic!

I'm not sure. The Jagmaster neck has 21 frets and the Jaguar has 22 . . .

so they couldn't reuse necks.

i had a thought, i wonder if these take off whether they will stop production of the jagmaster?

Wait how come if these are vintage modified they have 9.5 radius?! Shouldn't they have 7.25... Does anyone know if the bridges will be closer like on the CP Jazzmaster as well?

they're different because they're vintage modified, not vintage period correct reissues.

why were the vintage modified thinline telecasters 24.75"?

the bridges of the CP jazzmasters weren't closer to anything except the tremolo, which was the case only because the trem unit was moved forward. as these are hardtails, i'm guessing the bridge is in their normal position, with the exception of the jaguar, which i'm not sure anyone has confirmed if it's a compensated scale or true 24".

Shortscale conversion necks have fewer frets than the necks of the original (longer) scale. These Jag have 22 frets. These Jazzmasters have 21. These Jags don't use conversion necks.

I scaled and compared Squier's product photos, too. Same deal.

If I was a Squier honcho I would have designed a top-loading hardtail plate that looks like a Jazz/Jag trem plate, but with no spring assembly (or anything) underneath. No body drilling or routing. Some nice brand engraving on the plate. Punch out a million plates, so the thing at least looks like a Jazz/Jag onstage.

in that case i might buy a jag for the neck and part out the rest.

Should be easy enough to get 10% off on them somewhere. $270 seems like a sweet spot for these.

I figure if I'm patient, I'll be able to get 20% off bringing the price down to $240. At that price, it would be a pretty good deal.

Or pick them up cheap used down the road. It is priced under the CV Duo Sonic but above the Jagmaster.

The more i look at the jazzmaster the more i LIKE it. Ok, strat input jack is stupid and the knobs need changing.. BUT IT LOOKS SICK!! My birthday in a few weeks too and I would bet it plays better than my mustang.

If it does, you can send me your mustang :)
