The current CVs have an rrp of £330 and sell for £273 so won't be far off after a few months of release.

The Fender Mascmaster had 9.5" too, and his vintage Jazzies have huge frets leveled flat installed to simulate a flatter board, so while it is the only thing they can do at least it's appropriate here. The CV guitars are straight-up named after their pickguards.

Thanks for posting that, Mike! Seems the thing is just around the corner for a bunch of us.
Just checked out the specs on the site. May not be alone here thinking this, but I have a feeling that the Butterscotch body option w/anodized gold pickguard and rosewood fingerboard is going to smell look rather funky.

Yeah, i think it would need a black guard. I'd opt for the white anyway, it looks class.

yeah, they don't seem to have defined a Scratchplate alternative. I really hope one exists. Would be surprised if they didn't use a blackguard like on the VM Jazzmaster.

I don't see a scenario where I don't get one of these unless I can find the Fender J. Mascis for $500 like I did last Christmas and even then I could see owning both the Fender and the Squier Models.
Besides the different color schemes, the only real difference between the Fender and Squier versions is the tremolo placement, pickups, no tremolo lock,and matching headstock. It's pretty exciting to see a full featured Jazzmaster from Squier after the previous failed attempts. Very cool.

Yes, half the ones on the upper horn hold the switch mounting plates onto the pickguard.
Looks great. I hope its not overpriced though.

Yes. Although not all the screws on the upper bout are for the pickguard, they're to hold the volume/tone and switch in place.
