Benecol's has an EXP input for controlling the stab using an expression pedal.

Hey Mike... I used to own a Fuzz Factory clone and the squealy occilation noise used to bleed through even when the pedal was bypassed, is this something that's unavoidable , is there a way to stop it, do your pedals do it and is there a way around it? As far as I know the pedal was TB so I don't really understand how that was happening, but it was super annoying.

I've had some success using grounded input TB to get rid of it, but if you have the volume on the pedal way up, it can still bleed - it's on the ground line.

would it be possible to have 2 footswitches the second one making the 'stab' control 'stable' so it stops the squeal? You could have a second which which just kills DC to the circuit which would be a more effective "Safe" control, yes.
It might pop when engaged though.

miguel! bass boy is having some trouble with an old mu-tron III that he uses; being smelly and from the 70s it always seems to affect the signal even when it's off. he doesn't want to mod the pedal so would there be any way of building a bypass loop box that cuts it out of the signal path on demand, but still lets his dry signal through? or is that just nonsense?

Mike! the salt boost in my A/B/Y switcher started sorted of wobbling and has now cut out completely. When it's on it cuts the signal off completely unless I turn it up all the way, then I can hear the signal very quietly. If I post pics of the innards do you think you can advise on repairing?

Yikes that sucks matey. the good news is that the Saltbooster is a simple beast.
