The Jazzmaster is great looking in that last demo even with that berk jiving on it.

If it's a conversion neck it's a strange one. Every other Squier conversion neck has 21 frets, as far as I can tell.

I had mentioned that earlier. I think it's a real 24" neck.

That would be so cool if Squier actually had a real Shortscale. I agree with the logic behind them using the conversion necks, but maybe since it actually says Jaguar on the headstock, maybe they felt compelled to go all the way.

at least we have a good source of shortscale necks for projects now!

Just listended to the demos, for fucks sake can someone not wank away and play these things clean!? The jaguar sounded mushy as shit, and the jazzmaster sounded like it may have sounded good clean but no, shitty mustang 7 amp with its shitty nurock presets.

I'm sticking to my guns, I still think it's a conversion neck. It is basically a Jagmaster with a top-mount bridge after all.

To be honest the bridge and strat jack don't look all that bad close up. I'd out the saddles and put some 3 vintage tele-style ones in there. AWESOMENESS !!!

Not sure the 3 barrel tele saddles would work if it isn't string through ? although I think you could top load it.

Here's a close up... another good point, it's looks as if the guard hasn't been cut into by the bridge so good for those who want to mod.

agreed, it's ugly. They could have put a Tele Bridge on it, or a Toronado kind of. Or a gibson style Stoptail. Or a Jazzmaster trem after all. But this new designed thing just doesn't look right.

Things just hit the showrooms and we're all plotting how we're gonna mod the shit out of them . Love this thread .

Why won't people believe the neck is a proper 24"? It's not like it's beyond Squier to put out a "true" 24 incher, isn't that what the original Vista Jagmasters came with? What about the Duo-Sonic, is that a conversion neck?

I actually am starting to love that bridge. It looks like it would give a much closer approximation of the offset feel/vibe than a Strat unit.

a) Vista Jagmasters were recycled Fender Japan Jaguar necks
b) The Duo is indeed a conversion neck (pictured below with serfx's Chinese Jagmaster conversion neck)




It is rare for them to manufacture a true 24" scale guitar, yeah.
