Yeah thanks for mentioning me mate. He wanted it for a birthday pressie really soon so I bumped him to the top of my list and knocked it out in 3 days (a record). The perks of being Doog's mate.

Haha, I think I've taken over from inscho, I'm sure his board changed on a daily basis.
Pedals are looking great, mike. It's been wonderful to watch over the past couple of years from the first few saltboosters to the box of mike to dirty little secrets and pedals with features you'd never find in a shop. We love you mike.

It's a mutual love. I wouldn't be making pedals without shortscale.
This stuff is helping to pay for my divorce, kids, it's all much appreciated. Much of the impressive look of the pedals is obviously down to the superbly talented and ever-patient Benecol, who is a complete Decal/Drilling Guide
Genius.

The longest running pedal on his board was that boss tremolo pan.
Think mine is my fender foot-switch!

It's my birthday 3 weeks from today and as i'm loving the fuzz at the moment I think I might treat myself to a Tonebender Mk III (the one with the tone control) - can you make one for me Mike?

Yup, that's a definite possibility. I charge £70 for the MKII's and £75 for a MKIII.

It came out pretty. I'm happy with my wiring on it too - I reckon it'll love your MATAMP, both as a boost or an overdrive.
Posting today 1st class recorded.

Awesome, i'll have a MKIII please. Regarding colour, if you can do me a black and white one like the rat you made recently that would be good - otherwise just a white one would be perfect. I'm away in Scotland from the 31 July to 14 August so no rush to get done.

OK, no worries, I'll add you to the list, I'm sure Benecol can do you up a nice design - I'll paint the pedal itself white and have the decal on top supplying the black with the text/face in white (unless you don't want the face logo on it?)

I 'm happy to have the face on there, i'm not ashamed of my MBM pedals!

So what's going on with the crazy looking gain pot on the Klon then Mike?
Posted: Mon Jul 12, 2010 10:00 am
by Mike
It's a Dual Ganged 100K Linear Pot, so as you turn it up you're turning up two 100K Linear Pots (unconnected to each other) at the same time. It adds gain and changes the frequency response of the pedal at the same time - it's pretty much insanity in terms of the complexity of this circuit. It's completely original.

DOD Klon! Thats hilarious. I wish I had a decent tube amp when I had Mike's Klon. Dead good sounding overdrive, never got the benefit of using it to push tubes.
