I think from those demos, the Jazzy sounds better...
Is it me or do these look to be built to the same standards as Classic Vibes?

a) Vista Jagmasters were recycled Fender Japan Jaguar necks
b) The Duo is indeed a conversion neck (pictured below with serfx's Chinese Jagmaster conversion neck)
It is rare for them to manufacture a true 24" scale guitar, yeah.
WAIT. The Duo-Sonic is a conversion? A maple 24" conversion neck? FUCK. WANT.

Maybe they did this bridge using this strange 2-bolt-mountig system because the only modification they'd need to do for a classic vibe version would be a trem routing behind it? If that is the case, I would rather wait for that

As much as I hate to doubt it, I definitely do. If they were planning on re-using these for classic vibes, then they wouldn't have the strat trem I reckon. I imagine they just did it to save a pickguard redesign / make life easier for the people inevitably planning to mess with it / put a JM bridge trem setup on it.

My lack of sleep is showing.
By strat trem, I mean strat jack plate / route.

I like these. Just wish the Jag wasn't double humbucker.
And come on, Fender, you had it right with 7.25", don't ruin it.

So, has anyone tried one? They are in stock most online sites, my local guitar shop should be getting one of each in soon.
Excited to try.

I've checked guitar center a couple times since they went up online and I haven't seen one yet. The GC right down the street from me seems to get these pretty soon after they go up for sale online too. Hopefully they'll be getting them soon.

My local shop has had them for 2 or 3 weeks I think and still no sign of any on internet forums
I thought that these would be selling like mad.

Yeah I've tried both... bloody awesome they are !! Unfortunately I haven't had a great deal of time with them to be too in depth.
I'm gonna try pick up the jazzmaster at some point, it's lovely.
They look better in person, much better. Only had time to plug in the jazzy but the pickups sound pretty good to me. Bridge feels solid also.
Surprising thing about this one is the maple neck is it's quite chunky, wasn't expecting that !! Not the same on the Jag though.
I'm a little dubious about the concentric knobs, they feel a little rickety so don't know how that may fair up long term. I do however like how the settings work - volume and tone for each p'up.
Love Squier

at first i really wanted the jazzmaster but ive been kicking ass with my MIJ jaguar lately and I FUCKING LOVE fiesta red so that jaguar is starting to look interesting.
I think I'll put a sticker where the jack was and put the jack where the lower knob goes.
what do you guys think are the odds we can replace the bridges?
you guys think putting another pickguard in is possible?
i dont fucking think so. damn it. i dont like the 3 way up there.

I played one of the Jazzmasters the other weekend - really impressive for the price. Didn't like the amount of gloss on the neck personally, but still seriously considering picking one up & modding the shit out of it at some point in the none-too-distant.

I was really thinking of picking up the Jaguar until I realized it's body is basswood..... that is like the worst possible wood choice for a short scale.... its bound to have a flabby low end

The duo re-issue is basswood and they fine.

it is also single coils...... there is not much flab with those to begin with, but HB's will be a different stroy.....IMO

I actually really like basswood as a tonewood. As long as it's a hardtail I don't see any problems with it.
It also lets you use very bright pickups. I prefer the combination of bright pickups + dark tonewood vs. bright tonewood + dark pickups.
