She's like the worst player in a professional demo I've ever seen, but these are all still better than 95% of Fender's other demos.

There's nothing wrong with her playing.

Didn't say there was anything wrong with her playing. Gets the idea of the guitars across nicely, in fact.

Yeah, I thought her playing was cool. Not exactly Stve Vai, but who of are?

Why is it the guitar you want in a specific colour doesn't show face until the very end.
Where's the real pics of the Sonic Blue Mustang ?

I think these guitars are gonna be littered all across shortscale and offset for many years. Good times !!

It would have been cool if she had used more than the neck pup on the Jag demo.

Maybe she didn't understand all the switches[/Guitaristmagazine]

she was very small person-- I think they wanted to showcase how a tiny guitar could look big if a human was also tiny

one thing about those demos- it sounds like she's using the drive channel on a hot rod deluxe, which explains why they all sound fucking horrible until she switches to clean.

I got to play the Jag and the Jazzy last week at a local Sam Ash.. I was VERY impressed with the Jazzmaster . In fact got to play it side by side with a Classic Player .. It was obvious where they cut back on the Squier by the look of the finish and wood of the neck and the cheezy fake tort pickguard ( most can be change and upgraded cheaply ) but for the feel and the sound of it I was very impressive . Not just for a $300 guitar but as a guitar . The CP was a tad better but not $400 more better . I'll be buying the Jazzmaster and modding it .
As for the Jaguar .. Not so impressed .. But it was just the pickups .... Nasally . The body ( basswood ) wasn't so bad . Felt as heavy as my Jag Special. Playability was just like my Jap Jag .. Pots and switches kinda sucked ( easily changeable ) but overall a great guitar ...
As for the Stang I haven't played I'm expecting a guitar like my 69RI with a slightly crappier neck which I can live with.
I will buy 1 of each with zero remorse .
I'd suggest if you want one buy em now .. Personally I think they're a little too good so I'd expect a lacking in quality or a price increase by next year .

So after a full 14 years of my older brother deriding my taste in shortscale plinky-plonk oddball Fenders of yore, one texted pic of the Jaguar/Stang VM lines appears to have switched him into "oh fuck, I want the blonde Mustang" mode, so we're going to the SF and San Jose GCs to look for some/try them out this week and I will report my findings.
Gonna be weird if he of all people gets a Mustang before I've ever had one though.

she uses the trem arm very very softly. it means if you go harder you get out of tune?

Yes. Certainly on a factory Stang that hasn't been agonized over. They have a much bigger range of movement than a Jaguar/Jazzmaster, though much of it is useless.

The jazzmaster is tempting me, even if I would probably have to sell some stuff to make room for it.
Has anyone played the squier Mascis and the new Jazzmaster? I was wondering if there is that much difference besides the price.

one review over on HC said that the quality was a notch above in certain areas. the neck, bridge and pickups are definitely different and the trem plate placement is different as well. Does anyone know what wood the VMs are made from?
