Is it worth raising this with the surveyors who did the survey on the house when you bought it? It sounds like something quite serious that should have been picked up by them.

Did you pay for a survey yourselves or did you just have the free one from the mortgage company? If just the free one then you won't have much of a leg to stand on.

Nope, we paid for it to the sum of £520. Hence my rank disappointment, the surveyor was selected by our Lender (Cooperative Bank because I am an ETHICAL motherfucker)

I'm sure they'll have covered themselves with legalese, depressingly. It's just one of those situations I have to work my arse off for other people's fuckups again I guess.

If yours was anything like the surveys I've had done then everything is usually pretty heavily caveated. Still worth raising it with them though.

They'd have charged you for scaffolding, in my experience the only people who do anything on a ladder these days are self-employed.

I don't know much about these things but is it worth consulting your solicitor that acted in the purchase to go over the surveyor's contract/agreement and work out if they were negligent and if there is a possibility of getting some cash out of them? They may charge you though, but if you paid a flat fee for all conveyancing related to the purchase it may constitute part of that.

I'm going to have to pay a load for some work on my chimney, half the job is putting the scaffolding up and taking it down again.

Which is the reason I haven't been buying a load of these pedals

Here's the British Invasion pedal I've put together

It's a Catalinbread CB30 Clone (Vox AC30 Emulator/Overdrive) and a Catalinbread Naga Viper (GREAT sounding versatile treble booster) in one pedal with an order toggle.

Basically like their Galileo pedal but with all the Naga Viper tweakability retained and also an added order toggle so you can go Boost -> Overdrive for Gain boost, or Overdrive -> Boost for a Solo/Volume boost.






It sounds bloody fabulous. Will put this in the Classifieds now. Would keep it were it not for the fact I need to raise money to cover these house repairs.
