aha more,
alot of this week has been sanding and glueing.
i actually forgot the camera so these are all taken in indiana, on the floor of my mothers house.
but anywho, the guitar body is done minus the routes and paint.
and the neck is done minus paint and tuners, and a nut and truss rod cover but who is keeping track.
it should just be one more week.
my binding seems aren;t perfect but they are pretty damn good for a first time try.

ok, so before i get to the semi grand finalli here is adam modeling his new martin o style back he designed
hhahahahahaha
his face is a bit covered becuz of the wood, there is no way to prove when he cut it or where it came from and he could go to jail for that set, and the set he gave me
dibersia(sp) rosewood.
aka brazillian rosewood, aka the shit that has been illigal to cut and transport since the early seventies.
this piece was acually perfectly qtr sawn and came out of some guys barn
adam(the guy with the back set and hair in his face basically bought it for 250.00 and got about 10 fret board and 4 back and side sets, plus some nice veneer.
if any of you want a truly vintage rosewood fretboard he is selling them for no less than 65 a piece, and thats cuz we spent from 10 pm until 5 a.m. the next morning cut and documenting all of it(for legal reasons)
im pretty sure he isn;t going to give up any of the back and side sets for any less than 400 but i don;t think there are any aucoustic builders around here anyway.

ok, so here is some more
becu of the paint fiasco that went on, i was unable to finish it, so im going back up next week sometime to put some finishing coats on it, make a nut and whatever else i can come up with.
this is the dry glue(matching everythingt up without glueing just to check.
i had to basically make my own style of neck pocket for this one, but im pretty sure its structureally sound.
check it.
and here it is after the glue dried.
now check it out, i basically had to spend about 65 for a gallon of lime green paint that im never going to use.
in a nutshell, he gave me wrong shit one day, i went back the next day.
we started fighting, hardcore fighting.
he screwed me over with prices and ripped me off with the new can,
but its ok, becuz in the real world, no one can have the last laugh with me.
i still have the old crappy lime green, and he still has a window front that is untouched, i live about 300 miles away and all he knows is my first name as bob.
so heres the COLOR!!!!

brasilian rosewood is rare coz somme idiots Did Savage exploration , and dont did reflorestment so now its ending
and governament is shit today , the president dont care about wood and preservation of them
amazing wood , beautiful and very dense
give unique sound to any acustic guitar
if gonna do an acustic instead use PU at end or nitro use thing called Goma Laca , its preserv the sound from rosewood

its not really as tricky as it may seem, its just very very very very time consuming, hand carving is really hard, and its hard on the hands but its the only way to actually get a good sound.
anything by gibson is pressed laminent, they haven;t done a real carved top in years(no shit)
just by the tap tones from it, it will actually be a very very loud electric guitar, much more resonance and presence than a real dot.
thanks for all the interest, it makes my head swell!!!

Please stop posting false info, you keep doing that in most of your threads especially when talking about established companies.
Gibson Custom Shop does many models with solid carved tops. If you're referring to the es-335 and es-175 they were always laminate maple by design.
that thing is so ZZ Top... a combination of the gun f-hole and remembering these things:
but uh, y'know, better.

dddave what stuck to the ceiling?
and guess what jcypche
its not false info, over my bench is a collection of 6 gibsons including the es 335 es 135 the bb king lucile and a howard johonson fusion(along with a few others)
and it lists the info about them and every single one of them is "crap wood"
a.k.a. lame pressed wood.
i have never said anything that is untrue about established guitar companys. if you are referring to prs, im sorry that i offended you, but its the truth, i know it to be truth and my information is comming from someone that works there. don;t get me wrong they love thier job and like working there but everything they have relayed back to the school has been less than good.
and im charging jeremy about 1,600.00 for his custom archtop.
