PRS Guitars - if i wanted to play really expensive furniture, id string up my moms heirloom end table. those guitars are for old guys who want something super nice they will never gig with. they suck.

superstrats - boring. strats are kinda boring in general but there are a few models i can get into. superstrats (locking tremolo, hot rails pickups, scalloped necks, locking tuners, FUCK) are just super, ugh. i dont know man.

egotistical bands - i agree with heavium. i always make sure to stick around the entire show whatever gig im playing. i watch all the bands and give them the respect they deserve for having the balls to get up onstage in front of people. i help them get their equipment onstage when i can and i ask the band before mine after their set if they need any help getting their stuff off. i dont strut around like im hot shit and i always am courteous and grateful to bands i play with. screw anyone who doesnt act like that.

Framus, Deizel, etc... - high gain toneless wanky amps. seriously, come on. when are we gonna go back to the days of simpler amps without diamond plating and weird front lights and stupid looking desighns and so much gain you could melt a child if they are standing twelve feet or closer to your cab?

custom effects racks and switching systems - get over yourself.

mid knob = 0 - everyone understands that if you dont have any mids in the mix when you play live, you wont be heard past white noise, right? guitars are mid instruments. pull the mids out you sound like mud and farts.

headset mics for ANYONE - haha god man these make you look so lame. why? why cant a mic on a stand suit you? too fucking cool for mic stands?

not cutting the excess sting after putting new strings on - how old are you. seriously, that shit was cool when i was playing mxpx covers in middle school. invest in wire cutters, please.

im gonna stop, theres literally tons of stuff.

I like Strats. I just have a Mustang and don't need one now because they sound close enough to eachother.

I used to think it was fucking cool when I could play a powerchord and it lasted forever, and I could improv in the minor pentatonic scale and sound like Angus, but now it just bores me. I think it's probably because I've become addicted to that crunchy tone you seem to show off a lot in your demos.

That crunchy tone is pretty much the exact same sound, maybe with a little more edge. I dunno.

Personally I think a lot of people see that JTM45 overdriven sound as the holy grail - it's not for me but it is stupendous.

I can't stand when I see or hear a band, and they're playing a really loud clean Fender amp, usually a Fender Twin. This is mostly done by terrible indie rock bands. It's the most boring sound in the world, them just strumming a clanky clean guitar and usually a Fender guitar.

I don't like Line 6, I have never liked any of their products. I simply stopped paying attention to them as a company.

I don't like all those companies making Fuzzes and Noise Boxes that are supposed to be purposely BREWTAL or EXTREME, like E13 or whoever. That shit is boring.

I think guitar "improvements" that really are useless, like 6 saddles on teles, the smooth saddles on MIA Fenders, the 2 point strat tremolo, buzz feiten tuning system, all that stuff is so overated. It's amazing how in the 50's and 60's the two best decades of Guitar Tones people just played what they made and got awesome tones. Now we got a million upgrades and "improvements" and I can't remeber the last record I heard where somebody got a great tone. Guitars and Guitarists keep sounding worse and worse,

haha.. not so much. I love my multi-knobbed Marshalls - they're great sounding valve amps, and really flexible which is what I'm after. Secondly 6 saddle bridges are a significant improvement on that shit painful to play impossible to intonate 3 saddle shit.

If I could find a suitable replacement bridge for my Tele I'd change it, but I don't play high up on the neck so I don't really need to worry about it.

Using any effects pedal that isn't an amp footswitch, and big hollowbody guitars.

Anything by EHX - I have had a few of these pedals & I sold them after a couple months. They are generally much bigger than they need to be, the switch is prone to crapping out & in the case of the worm soo subltle I would often wonder if the bloody thing was even switched on.

Good successful guitarists that insist on playing poorly made harmony/kay guitars with toneless pickups from the 60's just for looks.

Eastwood guitars.....at the prices they are now, save up $50 more and buy an actual vintage guitar.

PRS....I actually love PRS guitars but I could never own one, because every model they make aside from the cheapo SE's has some ridiculous gaudy flameburst finish.

People who buy Squiers even though they have several GOOD guitars already.

Digital Delay. It just sounds like crap and is overused by just about everyone who uses it. for the instances it should be used in, an analog delay would not only suffice, it would sound warmer and more natural.

Snobbish people who play in grindcore/screamo bands. I've known a few guys in those kinda bands who know that they're only doing it for fun and actually listen to and play good music in their offtime or other bands....but the ones who take themselves seriously and act as though what they're actually playing should be considered music are terrible.

Wah. It's terrible. It sounded like crap in the 60's and it sounds like crap now. Jimi Hendrix would have sounded way better imo if he never used one. Tom Morello is the only guitarist (in RATM, not audioslave) that I've found to utilize wah in a non-annoying manner.

if you can play a Fretless bass with correct pitch, I got no problem. I love Jaco, I think it's a beautiful sound. But you see too many people playing the fretless and they just don't got it together.

The occassional use of it in a RATM song, that guitar break in Richard III by Supergrass and Voodoo Child are the only acceptable examples I've found.

wah's are good. i don't know what ya'll are talking about. If all else fails it's just a notched filter. It desn't have to be wackka-wackka-wackka.

Clapton, Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Mick Ronson, countless funk artist. All these people used wah's in a good way.

Not gear, but people who only like guitar music or X type of music.

All I'm saying is that all the truly great telecaster players I can think of, they all recorded with 3 saddle bridges cause that's all there was. They don't sound bad to me. So if there are so many countless records for 2 decades with that config, what's really the improvement? If you prefer 6 than whatever, but people acting like 3 is unuseable is just plain silly. There is a mountain of great recordings that says otherwise.

I just don't like the feel and hate when I actually sit down to intonate a guitar that I get to a stage where I have to compromise. It annoys me.

floyd roses- ive got a guitar with one and it sucks. the constant and random pitch bending if you try to palm mute, the fucking insane restring times, the shit locking stuff. absolute shit.
trem arms of any sort- im a tele man. no tremolos/vibratos for me.
guitars with random cutouts- BC Riches, Jacksons, etc. all shit, uncomfortable to play and usually come with floyds. shit shit shit.

Modeling guitars, amps or effects... I don't think I need to elaborate.
7 string guitars... nu metal triggers violence in me.
Fender solid state amps... buy a Crate amp. I am a certified Fender amp tech... the new shit is junk... Crates are made by St Louis Music and I have never had to fix one because of core component issues.
Peavey... I actually own a PA by them. I was tasked with fixing one of their amps by a local shop I worked for; they want $3 for a schematic print... fuck those tight-wads. Everyone else has prints available on-line for free in pdf format.
$2000 Chinese made Vox amps... you pay these children with a bowl of rice and make them work at gunpoint... price the amp accordingly.

People who don't really want to give digital effects processors any chance at all, or who criticize other people who choose to use them. I love my pod xtl, it gives me a chance to experiment with amps, effects, and other sounds that i'll never have chance to try or afford. I think some people just approach the unit with completly unrealistic expectations, such as the replacement of thousands of dollars worth of boutique equipment rather than a fun and usefool tool for jamming, practicing, and recording.
