Personally I think you will experience the treble/frequency range increase from just doing the Volume pots, but while you're there you might aswell do the tones.

Hmm, I've never changed tone pots. But I always thought you should use linear for tone.

Depends how you want the tone control to respond. I would use Log/Audio taper on both personally.

just figured while I've got the pickguard off for the new pickups and shielding I may aswell do the pots too, but if the ones in there are good I won't touch them

According to SD, volume is linear and tone is Audio pots.
On a jazzmaster that is.

Volume should always be Log/Audio. There is a debate on Tone, but Volume should always be Log since your ear hears sound level (volume) differences logarithmically and so the taper is better suited.
I'm not saying you're incorrect as manufacturers fuck up all the time. All the action in a linear pot will sound like it occurs between 0 and 3 to the human ear.
Fender put a linear pot in the Hot Rod Deluxe Master volume for some lame reason (there is speculation that you'll put the amp on 2 in the shop and go "WOW this is LOUD and there's loads of settings left" and buy the amp when the volume difference from 2.5-3 upwards is negligible because it's Linear taper.

The pots of my Deluxe aren't knurled, the shafts are smooth and the knob fits on with a side screw.

yeah my hot rod has similar headroom to my tt, I guess in tube land 40 watts isn't THAT much more than 15 watts,
If I ever got a blues deluxe(probably wouldn't own a hot rod again) the first mod I would do is change it from linear to audio cause its just makes them so hard to adjust otherwise
Kasabian are on shortly yay they are one of the best live acts I've seen, but then again I saw them at night in a cramped club, stadium might not be as fun

There's so little about this pickup online- one Google result brings me right back to my beloved Shartscole and NATHIN!

RumorsOfSurf provides some soundz, but I'd really wanna hear it against a more standard pickup..

I've actually been using the neck pickup on my Deluxe (and the combination of both) a lot more since rejigging the scratchplates and setting the pickup height higher.
The pickup model is identical though
I didn't know you still had your Tele Deluxe.

i don't know if this was ever discussed in the thread but tele bridge pickups are slanted, so the pole pieces shouldn't line up correctly if you jam it in jazz cover and screw it in straight right?
