I'm keeping my gear related urges in check. I've got a RobertOG Telecaster to finish.

I don't wanna!

Like jcyphe said the pedal isn't really a very close copy of the superfuzz OG, if at all.
If there is any octave up it's very very subtle above the 12th fret. you can sorta hear how octavey it gets on the demo.

I really like it - sounds good and great demo. Might nab one of these and one of the vintage delays soon...

hey Hurb, only just noticed this demo and it's pretty interesting.

I own a Boss FZ-2 and frankly it sounds ridiculously awful on 90% of settings. I'm not sure if it's your setup and rig, but the Beringher sounds alot better. Chords on fuzz 1 setting sound similar to what i get, so i guess maybe its a fairly accurate clone, at least in the fuz circuitary. Not sure about the EQ though. Anyway few quick questions:

1) Probably the worst thing about the FZ2 is that is has a built in gate which cant be adjusted, and cuts off all notes after a few seconds. And thats with humbuckers - on a low output guitar (Jaguar) it cuts off everything after 1-2 seconds, making the pedal totally unusable. Does this pedal suffer the same problem, or have they left the gate out?

2) Fuzz1 gets a sub-octive down mixed in with the fuzz, making it sound like a bass when you play the low E. Does this pedal have that?

3) How trebly is fuzz2? Hard to tell from the demo, but i cant turn my treble up 12 o clock or it gets too ear-piercingly shrill.

4) hows the bypass?

Thanks good demo, excellent bit of kit for the money!

cheers, It's intresting that you feel the boss isn't as usable. someone said on harmony that the gain knob does nothing on there fz2 and thought it was funny that i moved it in the demo....but the gain knob DOES! do something on the behringer. maybe his was broke he was a dick anyway.
anyhoo
1) gate well I would say no...however feedback on the 2 fuzz modes is limited in bedroom volumes. in my microphonic guitars so maybe there is a slight one but the notes dont cut off no. theres none of that. the notes sustain.
2) I havent used fuzz 1 too much I like 2 best. however on both modes octaves both up and down are present depending on what pickups you use. and where you play on the neck too.
3) the eq is great. on fuzz 2 I have the bass nearly all the way up(like 4/5 oclock) and treble like 1/2 oclock but can move it up more if needed. if you cut the gain back a bit the fuzz becomes more usable on chords.
4) bypass is great!

I am actually going to get another so I can use the gain mode as my dirt. and then have the other for fuzz. The gain mode is the one of the best distortions I have heard. I think it has allot to do with the tt being pushed though. I might try it with my fender hodrod to see if it is.

Just tried the superfuzz on the clean fender amp. the fuzz still sounds great. but the gain is just a clean boost and just makes clean louder haha

The clean boost is excellent - it doesnt just increase the gain, the bass and treble knobs are part of the circuit so it does add extra harmonics, as well as touch sensativity and stuff. It makes a real great gritty analog sounding boost (if that makes sense?), as opposed to say the Danelectro Fish and Chips (which is very transparent).

As for the Fuzz settings, i might have to buy this pedal cos I love my FZ-2, but my god the gate and total lack of sustain makes it almost useless. Plus the FZ-2 would probably fetch £££ on ebay.

Your right on the clean boost but on a very clean fender amp it just made it very loud. however it sounds like having a second channel on my orange tt and I love it on there. But it doesnt work on the fender, it just made it uncomfortably loud.
You have nothing to lose getting the behringer. cheap as chips and and I am sure you will like the sound.

Computer says No.

Last two £42 and £47. Second hand BD-2 (still in production!) fetches more.

Much belated Ultra says: That was an absolutely sick demo, Hurb. I don't need another fuzz (Just traded an disappointing EBS Octave pedal for a BRAND SPANKING NOS reissue Ampeg Scrambler...Evil tones galore in me palms!), but the Behringer would still be much welcome in the ultra collection. Have fun when it comes, Aphasiacon. :P

True and true.

Even mindless Youtube trolls are becoming more and more silent upon realizing that they're trembling in the shadow of his mighty demos.
