MIM Jazzmaster. It's here.

This is defo good news, I love offsets and there little quirks, but I appreciate that allot of folks just don't get it. Noobs (not just noobs either) want a plug and play guitar and these things sound like they may provide that. I'm not interested in them though, I'm still more of a purist. I can see the need for them however.

i think if they were $200 cheaper, i would buy that black jazzmaster today.
the more i think about it, the more i actually like these. in theory, at least. my old jaguar had the adjust-o-matic bridge and it was very solid.
if i can find one of these in a store to try out, i might consider buying one. it'd be a solid gigging guitar.
i just wish these came in cooler colors with matching headstocks. if i could get one in seafoam, it'd be much easier to justify the $800 to my brain.

yep. or, why didn't they do olympic white on the jazz? even that'd be tempting.bubbles_horwitz wrote:i think if they were $200 cheaper, i would buy that black jazzmaster today.

I have'nt read anything about this other than what people have posted but...BacchusPaul wrote:Cool.
What's the price diference between these and a CIJ guitar though? Is it enough?
I think the screw in the trem arm is a grub screw like you get on a mustang, rather than a screw-in trem arm, like you get in a strat. I'm judginf this by the wording of it.
the 3 main ongoing complaints about Jaguars are:
1/ The trem arm falls out
2/ The bridge sucks
3/ The pickups are gay
It seems to me they are resolving these problems PLUS updating the radius to a spec that suits modern guitarists. They may also be more accessible cost wise.
Hurb is sitting on the fence here because he finds his n00b status degrading. Its a smokescreen. I bet he has already fitted his AV Jag with EMG 81's

i think i would be much happier with it this this way. hRumorsOFsurF wrote:I think they are a great addition to the Jazzmaster/Jag line, except for one thing....The goofy location of the trem tailpiece. Why didn't they just include a Buzz Stop or some shit for Teh N00BZ and Hatorz?
i do feel like its a good thing to get more people playing jags and jazzys but 800 just does see a bit much to me too, the Jag HH is CIJ and costs less too. I do want try one out, Richard and i went down to GC today to see if they had any but no luck, but i did pickup a used ibanez artcore for $200 today
i'm sure they will be nice guitars, i love the MIM's they are usually great. the Baja Tele's are amazing. i just hope that these improvements don't suck, that's all . If they are awesome i will probably pickup a used one eventually.
yeah the color options do suck

it was actually the first thing i noticed
Myself as well, most notably on the Jaguar. On the other side, thanks to the repositioning of the tailpience we can all now act like arrogant penises and impress unbeknownstsjkfdjs scencester kids by loudly identifying the country of origin from a distance at a gig... not simply based on color, etc.
In a tiny pocket of my brain, it also strangely gave off the air that it might as well be B5-equipped for the heck of it. Everyone loves more >tension< on the bridge.

It just looks ridiculous. You may not think so, but I do. That's all that matters to me. Two inches is a lot when you've only been given 3 fully erect.Mike wrote:How is the location of the tremelo goofy? It's like two inches different to an AVRI or a vintage Jaguar. You idiots need to stop taking yourselves so seriously.
I didn't even notice it until a bunch of internerds started crying about it.
