With Jazzmasters tried stock, SD Vintage (rewired and shielded to AV) and Q
P's. The vacuum potted QP's worked the best with high gain.But i still got microphonic feedback.
Heres a vid i did with QP's, this was the most gain i could use without everything getting messy...

Obviously it lacks low end and the gain is'nt much more than overdrive.

My jazzy has never caused me any issues... in any situation... it's a shame it's a 61 and I baby it too much.
to answer Aeons question about what I'm using...the prob lies with this setup...

do you have any way of recording yourself playing this guitar at your present settings? might be easier to pinpoint what the cause is if we could hear the symptom.

Does it feedback if you go straight into the amp, without the sansamp in between?

Well there's your problem. Some pedals simply don't work well with guitars. I remember when I had a DS-1 that it would feedback terribly with certain guitars, but not others. It probably has something to do with the frequency that the pedal produces/emphasizes and the natural resonance of the pickup/guitar.
Your amp isn't that bad, why even bother with the modeling pedal? Maybe you could try some other effects and see if the problem still persists.

I just compared like for like with the jazzmaster... and I can turn up considerably louder with the jazzy without any unwanted feedback...
I'm having same issues with the stock neck pup on the jag too... so perhaps not the pup but grounding issue of some sorts ?
Is that possible ?

Grounding produces hum, not feedback.
The pedal just doesn't like your guitar dude. Or try potting your pickups, that might help.

O.k... I've removed the claw and that has completely rectified the problem it seems...
The short silver wire that I de-soldered from the claw... can that be left hanging or does it need to be reconnect elsewhere ?

I believe it would have just been grounding the claw itself so now it has no function. It would be wise not to leave it hanging as it might ground something that you don't want it to by accident, I would wrap some electrical tape around the exposed end and just tuck it away.

Just put everythin back into place & restrung it... what a difference removing the claws have made !!!
No microphonic feedback... !!! .... just nice gradual wanted feedback when the gain is cranked. It's a shame they had to go as they were a nice feature aesthetically I thought... also a slight gap between pickups and plate down each side but that's no biggy... at least it's performing as wanted it to... totally chuffed now
Will prob do a little sound demo sometime soon.... the sound seems to have moderately changed too... or perhaps that's just me... only for the better if anything....

You could replace them someday if you secure them better, it wasn't their presence but the fact that they were vibrating that was causing your microphonics.

Yeh I pondering on a few ways to secure them better... but I think it needs more serious thought if I do go down that route... I wanna feel totally confident that things are going to be problem free if I decide to use this guitar live, and removing them all together at least for now seems the safest bet. I padded out the pickup cavity with tissue but didn't make wealth of difference.. I also held the pickup claw and that had a significant effect on preventing the feedback... which is when I decided to remove them.
