I've never seen a band with in-ear monitors, but I still see a lot with wireless stuff. Standing inches from their amps.

i haven't seen that for a while. mind you, last time i
did see it i wanted to stab my eyes out with a broken bottle after the guitarist lept off the stage and ran around the perimeter of the venue whilst playing. fucking dreadful.

Depends on the act, they like that kind of shit at working mens clubs, and if its a Queen tribute band that like to see Ryan May play solos whilst stood at the bar.

this was an open air venue with about 10 people watching, including a tramp who repeatedly threw himself onto the concrete in some sort of 'cider-dance'. it was bizarre.

only reason i'd consider an in-ear system would be to hear myself better on stage, but in most club situations (where one would benefit most) they're just not practical to get setup when time is of the essence.

Bear in mind that a Blue Box will need it's own booster, and possibly a loop (for convenience).

I always heard that was bogus. I also heard that you could replace the output pot with a higher value one, but that seems bogus to me. A pot's resistance is either infinite (off) or a set resistance (max). In my mind increasing the value would just make it quieter by adding more resistance. Although I'm not good at this stuff....

When I tried kims blue box at doogfest it was plenty loud. hers had had the snip to cap mod though.

Ok, I did a bit of reading, and maybe that isn't so bogus. it's cap C11. I may solder mine out this weekend.

Just snip one leg. It increases the volume a little but its nothing to write home about. Some people complain the pedal makes a ticking noise afterwards as well.
Trying to completely remove it is a nightmare as the circuit board is so small with so many parts. I tried changing some components and made a bit of a mess so just circuit bent it. Its twice as loud now but i lost the blend/octave effect.
