haha, thanks, I will pass that along to "run like the dickens" it's their logo, so I downloaded some new font
so lets see how you all like this one, also I have zero idea if this is hand drawn, I used a "thresh hold" filter on it to get rid of all the other colors. So I didn't want to change the font on the info because it's easy to read, but the band logo's at the top, I don't know, should I keep them or scrap that idea?
But here goes attempt 3 :

Also, Hotrod, I kind of like that, the words are impossible to read though, thanks for the effort.

Lol... you say that, but if I saw that flyer I would definitely go to that show.
Though the rabbit does seem out of place on it... I really like the rest of it though.

It doesn't reflect any of the music we play, it seems more like a darker metal band flier to my eyes. SR is an alt. rock duo, Run is an Indie trio, and Gobloots is well, there's no way to really describe them. It's one guy (I think) who records on cassett tapes, with a drum machine (I think). But I do l strangely like that rabbit on it..... In a creepy way, if I really saw that rabbit alive in the dark, I would pee myself in fear.

show flyers are supposed to be impossible to read
if it's a hardcore band
so they are supposed to be as easy to read as the bands are to like, probably.
maybe its just that all show flyers are supposed to be in some strange hand-written font

I like ours to be easy to read, but I also like using strange fonts.

Not really on the "flier" topic, but I mean this is
my thread, of
my art.
So moving right along, I found a picture of the "Telemaster" :
Started to remove the "relic" job on the body (I'm working on the neck next) :
Here's the comparison image:
*note* I'm using a program called G.I.M.P. it was recommended by either Serfx or laterallateral. Can't remember, but I should be getting a copy of CS3 soon.

i really can't get on with the gimp.
nice job, although that top horn is a bit uneven.
what sort of tool does the gimp provide for doing that and how are you using them? in PS with an image like that where the colour is pretty flat and untextured i'd probably just paint over the relicing as opposed to using the heal or clone tool.

I'm using an "air brush" tool, which is basically a low opacity paint brush, the brush type is a fuzzy circle. My technique is fairly simple, first I copy the area I wish to paint, then I erase the area behind it, and for the paint part, I set the brush to a smaller setting, and zoom in and carefully paint over it, and erase if needed.
The Clone stamp on gimp is horrible, so I never use it.

Pro Tip - with fonts that are designed to look a bit handwritten you should be careful with multiple uses of the same letter, especially double letters. In some fonts all of the letters are capitals with lower case ones being a different 'image' so you can get around it by typing silLy rabBit band, but with most fonts you would need to slightly edit the letters. Perhaps rotate one slightly, or in the case of letters like O, you could flip them or rotate them fully.

Something along these lines?

or should I just go back and redo it?
