better yet, if i can, i'll try and do a video of it.
the tapes are around £250 a set and you can only choose 3 sounds per tape. there's that many sounds i can't choose.

bloody hell. still, i know what i'd go for. choir, flutes and that string sound that's all over 'see saw' by pink floyd and the first king crimson album.

Not to mention the first few Genesis albums - "Watcher Of The Skies" etc.

which is why i had to have a mellotron. watcher of the skies is played a lot on it. setting the tapes between tracks to get the mix of brass and strings.

stewart, do you want a digital organ?

Yamaha AN1x
Waldorf Blofeld
E-mu e6400 Ultra (sampler)

I'd eventually like to acquire a JD-900 again w/ Vintage Expansion, as it's ace for backgrounds and pads.

I have that exact same organ! Except without a rotating speaker, it just has medium and full vibrato switches. That thing is LOUD through a Swamp Thang (the original speaker was shot).

For programming sounds? No, I just tweak sounds from the front panel. There is a really good software editor/librarian for PC and Mac (OS9-only).

So, I'm supposed to start a new thread instead of adding to an existing one?

it's a monophonic analog synth. it has a sequencer and an ADSR mode to program your own tones.
Me too!
More synths need built in calculator functionality!

For such a cheap unit, it's got some really nice features with the ADSR and sequencer in particular... though programming the ADSR could be a bit of a pain. I found a website a bit ago with some ADSR settings and other goodies for the VL-1, but it seems to be gone now :/

dont have any pictures = ill try and get some over the week and put them in

2 Casio sk-1's and several sk-5's (1 is bent)
Estey Discovery digiorgan (with midi in/out/thru and audio outputs for live use)-full size real wood
Older than dirt silvertone organ and a couple other various branded organs out of the 60's and 70's
Akai S612 sampler and drive
tons of modules, and drum machines that are bent out of control

thinking of picking up a 1971 ( i think thats right ) 73 fender rhodes piano this week, not sure yet

I dont have any 'proper' synths but its because I like the grainy sound that these older ones have.. specially the organs
