+1

I played mine at very loud volumes. If treble setting on an amp/pedal aren't abused, it won't squeal. the guitar is naturally bright, so you have to tone down the treble on pedals and amps to compensate...but Coronado's are true hollow bodies, not semi's...but they give you semi's.

For under $500, the features look great, and I've dug the few Gretsches I've tinkered with before. This one has had me sportin' wood the last few days.
i own this exact guitar.

and i love it.

love, love, love it.

the pups sound great and the feel of it is like tits in my hands. HIGHLY RECCOMEND.

he ended up getting the non-bigsby version. sounds good if maybe a bit flabby on the low-end. . . but that could just as easily have been the amp and/or pedal setup. i jammed on it for a sec, and it felt really nice. really expressive. we were discussing pickup upgrade options, but steve didn't seem to think there were any out there. this made me sad. ={

intresting...i never notied any flabbiness in the low end when i'm using it...granted, i usually am playing it with the selector set the bridge position so maybe that's it? i'm sure GFS makes pickups that will fit in there. they call them "mini-humbuckers" but they look like some kind of soapbar would fit in there.

Yeah, the p/u's are only TV Jones designed, kinda like Duncan Designed, so pretty much shite. I've been able to track down a few replacement possibilities (TV Jones and GFS). Still don't think there are any drop-ins, but there might be some that only require making the p/u hole deeper, which I can do. I don't want to have to go wider.

Probably will go with GFS when I upgrade, just based on price. The TV Jones p/u's are over $100 each.

let me know what you think of the GFS pups (and which ones you buy) because if they end up sounding decent i'd consider replacing them in my ProJet. like i said though, i actually really like the sound of the pups in mine.
