Old pics but we still have and love this this guitar. Sort of tempted to switch it for that Vox 12 string that Nick is selling in the classifieds because it has a tremolo, but I love the brightness from these split pickups. The Vista line is amazing.

Love that.

Here's a picture of mine when I first got it:

I've been keeping an eye out for a green 6 string but they hardly ever come up for sale over here.

I love this guitar so much that I got an AVRI Jag yesterday and just don't care, all I think about is the Venus.

I'd love it more if it were green though!

I love that shade of green but for some reason I think the Venus looks better in black.

If the body wasn't made out of basswood I would have totally jumped on a venus by now.
I'm just afraid the thing would totally disintegrate ((hide))

Basswood is fine, what do you mean?

It's reputation as a "soft" wood prone to damage. I'd just hate to get a cool guitar like that only to accidentally drop it and watch it split in two or something.

But I'd be happy to know that isn't the case :D

Nah man that's definitely not the case. When I was 14 I dropped my JagStang right onto it's bottom strap button which caused it to bury itself in the wood and it lived to fight another day. Someone on here may even own it.

I agree on it being "soft" though. The VM mustang I owned wasn't even capable of holding in it's own strap buttons the wood was that soft. Same deal with my VM Jag too, bottom strap pin just rattles around and works itself loose every few days.

Oh cool.

So just like some glue on the strap buttons and good to go?

For my personal experience of the VM guitars, yes. The wood to me seems especially soft on these. I have owned countless basswood Fender guitars and they've all been spot on as far as strap pins go. I imagine the Venus would be the same. Who knows, maybe that's the cheapest part of the VM guitars. They're still brilliant too, don't get me wrong.

I'm trying to buy another XII just so I can remove the octave strings and play it as a 6. The pickups are so amazng, the amplified guitar on clean sounds exactly like the unamplified guitar, just louder.
