I posted The Cribs as well earlier in the thread. Its a shame he uses the 335 nowadays, the bassist also changed from Mustang bass's to p-bass's. At Christmas they did 3 gigs over 3 nights, each one playing a different album in its entirety with B sides (they have 3 albums). They also used the old gear from back when these albums came out, so they were rocking their old Mustangs... i swear it sounded better.

Was that the thing they did at that old social club were they started out? I saw that on their website. I like bits off all three albums, but i think they sound better with the Gibson. Its richer sounding, less twee indie band sound.

Yeah it was, 'Cribsmas' as they called it. It's on a DVD i think.. I can understand them using the Gibson, I just preferred their old look when they both used mustangs and had longer hair and stuff, i prefer their old music as well.

Yeah, Lights Out is a good one. I think The New Fellas was their best album, but some of their best tracks came from the first one. Another Number, You were Always the One, You and I, What about me - all awesome tracks.

That's a Bronco 0_o and an Arctic Monkey D:
I knows, but when I first saw it it was in the Brianstorm video and you can't really tell what it is at a glance, only that it's Mustang shaped. I thought "Wow, that's so cool, and nice sound". I know it's a Bronco, but it's close enough for me. The black on black made me want the Shadstang hard enough to get it.

And yes, Arctic Monkeys are COOL.

Flahsguns. Great stuff. Too bad I live on the wrong side of the Atlantic to see these kinds of bands!

My other one would be Alex Turner's Bronco, but apparently he plays a Jazzmaster now, so no more short scale... sad.

Do they have another album coming soon ? I heard a live track and was suitably impressed ...

Much more mellow...

Yeah, they do.

That Crying Lightning song that was debuted on Australian TV seems really good. Still Arctic Monkeys, but darker. Little disappointed in Matt Helder's simple drum beat in it though... he is usually so creative.

Yeah, that's the one. They have five new songs that they have been playing live on their Oceanic tour, but that video is the only one with a good quality recording, and it is also probably the best of the new material.

Really?

That's probably the worst Arctic Monkeys song I have ever heard. If that's supposed to be the best either our tastes are very different, or this album is going to be a stinker. That was just atrocious - the vocal melody just didn't do anything at all and it was probably the most banal instrumentation also. Jesus.

Let. Down.

I must say that I had to listen to it a few times before it got to me, but eventually it did. Great track, maybe you should have another go at it, or if you really just want them to keep playing the exact same kind of songs that they always have, keep listening to the old albums.

it was boring as shite. i loved the first album when it came out, liked the second but it looks like it'll end there.

I'd rather they played anything than that tuneless dirge. It really was shite.

That has nothing to do with progression, and everything to do with it being a really poxy song.

I really like that, it's easy listening. Jazzmaster, Starcaster and a classy vintage P-Bass? Vair nice. What effect does Starcaster man have? I love it.

that song is really bad! i always thought they were a nice band, with a good frontman... but this is just shit, is singing really sucks on it, and the instrumental! wtf, couldn't be more banal! the guy should quit and just play on the last shadow puppets (way better band) , if they're going to do this kind of...trash....
