My only mic equipment is a crappy usb computer mic. Everything would sound like crap through it. As soon as I get something worth a damn to record with, I'll post a demo.
I need to get the miggy fixed anyhoo, the Low (lol) channel is fading in and out and that the channel I use most.

I bought it about 6-7 years ago for $250 including a Sonic 4x12 cab. I see them go these days closer to $500-700 though.
The sound... hrmmm...
The low channel sounds sort of Plexi-ish but with more grit. No matter how clean you try to run it, it breaks up but it's a nice warm bluesy break. This is rock and roll, who needs crisp cleans anyhow.
The high channel... well... it's a cross between a JCM800 and Godzilla. It's brutal distortion, but not muddy. This channel will take you anywhere from 70's style hard rock to the most crushing, grindey metal you can imagine.
My old band used this amp to record the tracks on our myspace. It was the high channel set with fairly low gain, good punk rock tone. Forgive the singing, I know I suck but this is as close to a demo as I have for it right now.

i've always been curious of the DS-2. mainly from some of the chilli peppers guitar sounds. i've heard that it's a bit of a love it or loathe it pedal.

I want a JVM so bad. It's a shame, I've started to really like small amps, and my band is just piano and guitar at it's core, so I've adopted small, no frills ethos, with amps with only a gain knob, a a pedal with only a gain knob, and only the neck pickup and my hands on the guitar.
I'm really considering starting a heavy rock three piece, just so I can started fucking about with stupidly loud things again.
