You'd then have to get a metalwork guy to cut you out the four plates (upper horn plate, lower horn plate, control plate and bridge plate).
To be fair, I think it's a lot more simple in thought than it is in execution. Metalwork guy or not, cutting out any of those control plates would be quite a difficult task without some serious shit. Cutting out switch holes would be a nightmare, I'm pretty sure that most people find it hard to cut those out of pickguard material, never mind 1/8" steel plate.

A CNC machine will cut through that plate like butter.

i prefer the hidden pickup version...

that said, it needs a JM trem system, a starcaster headstock, and i would prefer a standard jag switching plate instead of the ugly 4 switch thing.

The Starcaster headstock is weird. Is it match-finished on the contour like that on the Starcaster too? It looks wonky as fuck on the Maurauder. Jazzy head ftw.

Eh?

The headstock is the same as that stupid Starcaster headstock. It's fucking rough.
I think it's one of the best looking headstocks there is. Truly, when it comes to guitars, we are Jack Spratt and his wife (exept we both covet each other's teles).

Butter, when used in the context of guitars, becomes 'buttah', as any fule kno.

Blimey.

I'm really not a fan of regular Strat and Jazzmaster 'stocks, right below the larger Fender Strat style stocks I would put the Telecaster headstock (even if it does look like Jeremy Beadle's hand)

It's taken me a loooooong time to learn to tolerate the tele headstock, and I love teles. I also, probably controversially, love the Tiesco 4+2 headstocks, Peavey Blazer headstocks, and Firebird headstocks with the banjo tuners.

There, I've said it.

Why did you just come out and tell me you were a Pervert?

All those headstocks are cool. Fender made some of the worst headstocks ever besides the Stratocaster and Jazzmaster type. The Teisco is the coolest ever it looks like a Harpoon and also reminds me of Ninjas. I drew a custom guitar I will definetly get one day with that headstock, which I have and enjoy on other guitars, it's also a very functional design.

...jcyphe's going to build a guitar with a detachable grappling hook headstock that lets him scale buildings silently in the night...

Marauders are a fuckin horrible, ugly, stupid waste of knobs and switches design. There's a reason these crappy prototype monstrosities never got put into production. That reason, fellows, is that they plain blow.

I thought the reason they never got manufactured was they weren't worth the money to make and sell.

John C. Hall from Rickenbacker said the pickup system sounded terrible. Fender got the idea from them, but terrible is subjective. Some pink haired, converse wearing low self esteemer would probably think it was like all "unique man" and cry emo tears about it.
