Sorry for being a bit off topic, I have a question about the function of the mix knob of delay pedals and didnt want to start a new topic.

So, the mix knob of the hazarai ehx delay works in a peculiar way. let me explain.
with most delays (and other pedals) the dry level is at full volume from 0 to 5, the wet level starts from 0% at 0 position and reaches 100% at 5 position and stays that way, whereas the dry level starts reducing after 5 until is becomes 0% at 10. i used a 0-10 scale for the mix knob.

with the hazarai the dry level is at 100% only at 0 and starts reducing while the wet is rising. so at 5, when dry is supposed to be equal to wet, the dry level is about 50% and not 100%. this also happens in loop mode, which means that when you turn on the pedal, there is a significant volume drop if you have set the wet to be equal to dry after looping. hope you get what i mean.

my question is
is it possible to have separate knobs for dry and wet levels? i am not sure how exactly the mix knob is functioning but i guess its is fed by both wet and dry signals and it mixes them in a way,so is it possible to separate those signals to different pots?

PS. that pedal indeed sounds excellent.

Indeed you can. This design just has a Delay Level pot, but you could also have a Dry signal pot controlling the level of that signal before they are mixed in the output op-amp stage.

hmm, i wonder how easy it would be to implement that idea on the hazarai. surely no space for an extra pot, maybe dry could be controller by a slider on the side.

A slider? Would not be easy to drill the casing for that.

Also the Hazarai is a SMD DSP pedal. Not easy to hack into the signal path, at all.

Boxed up!

Proper demo will be up later:

great finish!

r you using press transfer letters or just print on transparent paper?

I'm using transparent labels I print on with my printer and then chop up and place with tweezers. I'm looking to get into waterslide decals that cover the whole pedal face when I can source some paper for a decent amount, I think they will look more seamless then, although there will be more work to get everything lined up perfectly.

Paul - cheers, although I can't take credit, again it was the original designers name. But a Star Wars reference? You know I'm all about that.

Cheers Thom, I try!

cool stuff mike

the stutter box doog mentioned is something that crossed my mind a while back too. i was thinking of two momentary switches, one for an extremely short delay (stuttering) and a kill switch that kills the signal outright.

will watch vids when i get home.

Yeah these things "should" be possible with some prototyping and modifications. The number of controls could be cut down aswell which would help in cramming extra switches into the thing. I think I've come up with a way to stop any feedbacking continuing in the pedal after it has been bypassed, by grounding the delay pedal input using the extra lug on the 3DPT on the LED pole when the pedal is bypassed.

that sounds amazing, great demo. i need to start looking into building pedals, all ive done is mod my vox wah.

Sounds fantastic. The maximum repeats before oscillation sounds really nice - especially after a few cycles when it just gets down to sort of an undulating drone.

Ooh, nice oscillation. I like that a lot.

Yeah, it's surprisingly analoguey when it's gets spacey. It doesn't remind me of a digital delay at all when I play it.

That sounds ridiculously good... and useful.

Jealously. In large doses

Any of you guys could do this. Just start with the simple stuff and work up. It's not rocket science and just needs concentration. some patience and problem solving and determination.

listened to the demo, sounds amazing, any idea on price were you to start building them?
