I need to read these, the illustrations look awesome.
To my surprise, they aren't that bad, I'm not much of an anime/manga fan, but these are pretty good. The illustrations are top notch.

You can read them in English here -> http://www.anymanga.com/beck/

Its a bit annoying having to click 'next' and wait for the next image to load for every page turn when there is like only a couple of words per page :?

I personally am not against it, some is interesting, like FLCL, but I just could never get into it. But I have a ton of gundam action figures. But since Dan beat me to it, visit that link, as it has the full issue, I only have one part of it.

I've always been into comics and stuff and I'm an artist myself so I really dig the artwork in the manga. not so much in the anime. these days I'm always thinking how I can combine visual art with music.

Have you ever had the though of writing and recording a song, then animating around it?
Like have the instruments be the characters, playing themselves, or creating a film of things happening at peak points of the song.
an idea I had a while back was the dramatic loud parts of a piece there would be something like a car crash or trains colliding to express the certain part, if it makes sense.
Just a few of my thoughts.

Yes. I think of animations for existing songs mostly. It's frustrating to have ideas floating around that I am unable to take to the next step. I don't know shit about computer animation really.

All is fine, dude. Every guitar is accounted for.
Between work, real life, major computer problems, and the hockey playoffs I just haven't had the time to be around.
The real question is WTF is wrong with me? I've spent the past week putting this guitar to the front and back of my mind. The final verdict is **sigh** I fucking want it.
I am at my self imposed limit of guitars that I want to own, but I'm weak.
I did send the seller a question about the auction......so depending how he replies I may buy one or both.
Some of the auctions I've seen from Japan have been deceptive and the picture in the listing isn't necessarily the same one that's for sale.

Your auction shows that you have 2 available, but it also says to ask for availability. I'm interested in this guitar and want to know how many EXACTLY like this one you have for sale. Also, in your opinion, do you think the decal on the back of the neck would come off easily?
thanks,
Erik

I knew you out of anyone would flip for one of these.

However there appears to be some bad news, I had been kicking around getting one also, and finally pulled the trigger last nite after going thru the whole live.com cashback bit.
This morning got the following message:

Thank you very much for your purchase.
I am very sorry for that it has been sold out, and the maker is out of store now.
The maker said this model can be available within 2 months, would you like to wait?
If you can not wait, I will return you the money and cancel this trade.
Thank you for your understanding.
Wait for your response.
Best regards!

I requested a refund, I don't want to tie up that much $$ for 2 months. We'll see when / if they get more.

That's really unfortunate, that's a very nice guitar and if you do end up getting one, it'll no doubt be rare in a few decades time, being an official limited edition.

I watched some episodes of the Beck anime on YouTube a couple years ago, I really enjoyed what I saw. It had subtitles and everything. It seemed like a fun show, and there's a lot of attention paid to the guitars and the musical aspect in the story. The protagonist is basically a loser who wants to make it big from what I can tell, and he drools over all the vintage guitars he sees (like this one guy who has a Jaguar, and he fantasises about Kurt playing it or something). I didn't get past him being a loser, so I dunno if he becomes successful or what.

Sven - I got the same sort of reply from them. I'm glad now that I sent him a message before hitting the buy it now.
I would still get one, but he's out of his mind if he thinks I'm going to send any kind of pre payment. I mean really, if you advertise a product for sale and show a quantity, but in reality don't have a single one, isn't that fraud?
I knew something was up with that listing. I've seen it before from other sellers.
Here's what he wrote me:

Dear Erik, thank you for your question. First, this model is very popular now. I and the maker are all out of store now. If you make pre-oder, it can be shipped to you within 2 monthes. Second, the decal on the back if the head can not be put off easily. It is under the finish. If you have any other question, please feel free to ask me. Thank you very much! Jo

Although I do not care for how they do business, I wouldn't go as far as to call it fraud. Jo was pretty friendly and has refunded my money already. I also sent him/her an email him first, a few days ago and there no mention of them being out of stock. Strange. I am thining maybe he had a couple of those guitars in his store that were bought by customers there.

I guess I'm just reminded of a bad dealing I had when Guitar Center was selling on the Bay. I pulled the trigger on a guitar that was close to 3grand, then received an email stating that they didn't actually have it and they would refund my dough. It took nearly 3 weeks to get my money back and that finally happened after used the 'fraud' word on them.
Good to hear you got your money back so quickly.

He clearly isn't since they are not in stock and you surely didn't read any of the last few posts. Besides, I'm not sure what relevance that has here any way. I couldn't give two shits what someone on js may or may not do.
