Does anyone have any ideas about what to do to the crack? the guy it belonged to glued the pieces of paint on it, it looked really shitie, i've taken them of, it looks better, but would some sanding "smother" the edges of the crack (give me some ideas... )?
The bridge has 3 strings, is that to many? i had to screw the bridge srcew almos to the maximum to make the bridge go all the way down

As for the reverse headstock, I'd chop it down a bit, give the metal look. Sorry but its the only way to go about it. Also would have to be matching.

@sp3k: just replace the hardware, won't cost any more that $50, but you must keep the original stuff - whenever I replace something on a guitar, I always keep the original
Good luck with it though! How does the neck feel?

unless something is actually broken I don't see the need in fixing-up/replacing anything. the chipped paint and rusty hardware is part of the character and charm of the guitar.

I think tort would look good.

Well a rusty trem would affect tuning stability but other than that, its just opinion. A lot of guys on here love smashed up guitars covered in tape, but on heavy metal forums, theyre like 'get that scratch fixed!' I think guitars in great condition are cool.

Do you mean three springs? How many springs you have is a matter of choice, but generally speaking, three springs is common on this type of bridge if you're going to use it as a tremolo. If you don't want to use a the tremolo, it might make sense to get another spring or two and to screw it down so that it won't move anywhere.

As for rust, try WD-40 and a heavy bristled brush (not wire brush, as this will scratch the hardware). For intricate parts try WD-40 and a tooth brush. You will probably be able to get it it a lot cleaner by scrubbing it this way, although depending on how clean you want it, you might have to replace the parts.

I doubt very much that a bit of rust will effect how well the bridge works, so the only thing to worry about is how it looks.

If there's something sticking in the pivot point, it will go out of tune, this includes dirt.

It depends where the rust is and how bad it is, but for it to effect tuning stability it would need to be pretty fucking bad.

At worst it won't keep tune if you use the trem. Judging by the pictures, it's just a classic case of rusty saddles. They will not affect anything, except aesthetics and comfort.

Then don't buy a Super-Sonic. I don't get why you insist on "liking" guitars that you actually dislike more than 50% of. There are plenty of guitars in the world, there's always going to be one you actually like and don't have to modify the shit out of to like.

What I would do is get a b/w/b pickguard and a pair of white or chrome robroe covers like these...



bronco knobs too, you could probably pick up a pair from the Sloan deal (I know it's buy six, but I think you could find a way to buy a couple off someone or perhaps buy some with someone else).

Solid chrome covers would look great, especially with bridge cover.

I forgot to mention a bridge cover. It would really complete the look.

Although, it might not work on account of the paint damage. It might not be clean enough looking, like.

You can get strat bridge covers? Good to know, I'd really like a completely white jagmaster for the mac geek inside me just white body and P/g, chrome barrel knobs, maple neck and that bridge cover.

And that tort looks so great, personally I'd stick with the current pickup colour, but robroes are always cool
