THIS is shortscale.org. it is not the internet. there is seniority here. you are at the very bottom of the pecking order ATM. this is where you start until you've proven that you are of worthy acceptance. (which i am still yet to do).

if you are new to this forum, you are new to life.

and you were clearly that tuff guy earlier. talk shit to 0ldbs, and you will be dealt with accordingly. i've seen it happen several times over the last month. just saying, don't come in here with guns blazing acting like you know everything and yer shit don't stink.

As for me - I am who I am. I'm not here to kiss your ass while waiting for you to "accept" me.

I don't "buy in to" your "pecking order." It worked while I was in the Army - but it doesn't work on the internet.

I've "met" some great members here so far - many "welcomed" me when I posted a thread with photos of my shortscales - to include some live shots playing out with my band. I never came here "like I know everything" - and I didn't just come trolling in here to raise hell. I think it is fairly obvious that I'm a short scale owner and player who gets out and gigs. I might know a thing or two. I've also tried to make a couple of helpful posts so far - one of which you posted right afterwards (talking about a way that works for me to remove superglued knobs on pots). Then again, I didn't exactly see you over on the "welcome wagon" when I showed up like many members took a second to do - just a backhanded comment about how I used TWO smiley faces shortly after my arrival. I said it earlier... "It'll be OK." Relax. I'm not a dickhead, I'm not a troll, but I'm not going to be batted around because you have more posts on an internet forum than I do.

you might get into some unsavoury debates if you start talking shite to members who've been here longer but if you can argue your corner without resorting to stuff like name calling (tribilolz) and try not to hold grudges you most likely won't be "dealt with". that's not shortscale style.

Thanks. I'm really not trying to be "out of control." I mentioned it earlier - I'm a mod at another guitar forum - and the last thing that I'm trying to do is be out of line.

I love short scale Fenders - there isn't much discussion about them where I've "hung out" in the past - so I'm excited to have found a group that is in to the same guitars that I am.

"Strong Character" - I can see that. I've got a military and law enforcement background - I guess its just my nature!

I do understand that there is a "getting to know me" phase that will happen here - which is fine - I get that.

I'll keep it low key so long as the respect is flowing both ways!

it's not my pecking order, dickcheese. my ego's boosted plenty without telling you in the first couple days what it took me a few weeks to figure out. i don't need to accept anyone, i'm here for the guitars, not necessarily the people. although i've gotten a lot of help from the people who know a lot. you might be one of those some day. if so, thanks in advance, but please don't come kicking shit around when someone says smileys are annoying. i am not very important here, never pretended to be.

I didn't mention anyone's caps or spelling errors until a I took a bunch of flack over nothing. Just a little ribbing. I hope that is "acceptable." Or is this a super strait laced no smiles kind of place? I don't think so, from what I've seen.

I don't hold any grudges - and I'm not trying to get on your bad side. I'm just not a weak character - I may speak up from time to time, particularly if you try and talk to me like I'm a child. I also enjoy a good debate. I'm half way through law school - so that is pretty much what I do - I debate and discuss topics, without taking anything personally.
