dudes, theres an electronics shop here in town with about a trillion tubes most of which look to be from the viet nam era. I wish I knew about tubes so I could pick some neat ones.

MOTHER OF PEARL!
I rang up the local amp tech and said:
"I want to release a tube amp in about a year, but I don't know a thing about it. do you want to participate?"
and he very quickly said
"yep."
and so we have a buisiness lunch tomorrow, HAHAHA!

Time to start saving for my Dwarfcraft Amp.

ugh, its going to be so stupidly expensive, i don't forsee a lot of them moving, but hell, I'll have a cool amp to show off! Parts are expensive, and you have to build an enclosure, damn. I sure hope I can work it out to make it at least resonable, without going PCB, because those are a nightmare to fix/mod.

It would be awesome if someone made a guitar amp that didn't rattle and fart when mondo bass tones were piped through it

A lot of that has to do with the cab, doesn't it? i used to put my bassman head on the floor to minimize the racket...

DWARFTCRATF AMP IDEAS FROM SLAON:
1. plz maek the enclosure small, perhaps have the transformers etc stick out horizontally to save space
2. include rack ears for rackmountin'
3. beefy toggle switches.
4. separate outputs for 4/8/16ohms rather than a switch (that will eventually break off y'all!)
5. etc...

Yep - it's mostly combo amps with all the vibration hitting the tubes. I really should go to a head w/ closed-back cab, but that's a big shift and a lot of expense.

DO WANT JTM 45 with straight-front Celestion 25 cab!
AEN: Do a flip-top amp!
The head goes
inside the cab for transit

We're considering a lot of enclosure options. They're all expensive.
Had my meeting with Derrick today, he's on board. We're going to get a prototype done and then get pre-orders. Possibly releasing two amps at once.......

are you thining a low wattage and then a high wattage? Combo vs head? Let me know because this is the type of thing I would get behind and buy as I am sure it will turn out great and have it's own flavor

We're thinking... just thinking... this is the plan so far
"Love Buzz" small footprint high gain warm fuzzy amp with footswitchable gain levels. I want to go from "gentle breakup" to stoner metal grind. 4/8/16 ohm outputs, should be doable. we're looking at a Traynor type transformer.
"Soap Box" a simplified squeeky clean version of LB. VOlume and Presence, for those who shape their sounds via pedals, like me.
There's been (of course) a lot of suggestions about putting pedals in the circuit, which is posible, of course, but at this time, I'm very interested int he purity of an amp.
Of course, nothing is set in stone, so I'll keep updating
