hahaha how many axes do you have now?
Electric (including the Frankensonic that is on its way to me): 5 (Strat, Gretsch DuoJet, Jagmaster, Esquire (Project not quite done yet), Frankensonic)

Acoustic : 3 (Ibanez A/E, Fender Acoustic, Jasmine A/E that is beat to shit and just needs to go out of my life)

Basses: 3 (AD Jazz Bass, Squier P (OH FUCK I NEED TO SHIP THAT PEDAL BOARD TO ENDS TOMORROW!!), Montana A/E)

We're also holding on to my father-in-law's upright bass...that thing is fucking awesome.

yeah, it is kind of embarassing considering that i'm really a bassist by trade...and it sounds funny to say, but i think since is started acquiring more guitars i've gotten to be a "better" guitarist...having to track pretty much every part i want in 4.5" Raw forces that outta me too..

It's a JB JR & I've installed it inside a jag cover with it's top cut off...

think it'd only work with the 1st generation with the cloth surround on the pickup... like mine...

Glad you like it. Just put a nice suede Levy's strap on there and I'll also be trying a buzz stop again.

i simply must experiment with this. i have a non-cloth duncan mini humbucker and will order a jag pup cover to try this out. crazy. . .

Was a bit of a squeeze with the cloth one so I think a fully coated plastic one would be too big to do this... but you could just use the end bits of the covers like others have done previously.

"Mother of bowling ball" is the traditional term - tort looks like various colours of plastic melted together, whereas this is more like melted plastic with pigment swirled into it. The colour has depth, it's not just on the surface.
Mike wrote:At least it's on White, like Bob says it would look dogshit on Sunburst but it looks OK on that colour.
Thanks, I think.
Red guards were used on 60s Fenders (including sunburst, sorry!) as well as these 90s MIJ reissues, however I think the 60s ones were more tort-like.

Mid 90's '62 reissue, when I had a hotrail in the bridge. I never liked the way it sounded.

Same '62 reissue with new paint, pickguard, '65 dot and bound neck, pots and us avri pickups.
