DISASTER!!!
While spraying the 2nd color (burst) the top of the paint c came off! it shot weird clumps of paint on the guitar and stopped working... I'm going to see what I can fix with careful sanding but I may be back to teh drawing board...

The LP will get a demo, I already broke it though. Not that there's a kbob missing? I fucking broke the neck volume pot somehow. Which is ok, I'm more of a bridge guy and the coil split makes the bridge perform double duty any how.. but I wanna give it a good all around show off. Gotta a new Long Shaft Pot on it's way Saturday... fucking Gibson sizes demanding specialized hardware.
That ebony fingerboard is AMAZING.

Disaster strikes again and again!
Went to go buy more paint and the original color I had was out and they aren't stocking it anymore. So I grabbed one that looked close and figured with clever spraying I could blend it and make it look decent.
Not to be so.
As soon as I spray it I see that it's much much darker than shown on the cap. And non metallic. And looks hideous over the gold.
So I move on to plan B.
I'm already $50 or so into supplies at this point so I refuse to buy any more paint. I've painted the whole body this dark rich blue and amd going to reverse the burst so the blue bursts to gold rather than the other way around. I am also going to let the gold mist over the blue slightly to give it a metallic sheen as well antique it a bit.
We'll see how this goes. Worst case scenario... Kali ends up Blue.

all together, just to get an idea of what it's gonna look like
Totally different than how I envisioned it, but maybe it's a happy mistake. We'll see after the gold burst is applied.

That is a seriously sexy guitar.
The gold/blue burst was kind of meh, I prefer the plain blue.

it looks pretty good. would've rather seen the blue burst though (first kind). probably looked worse off IRL than in pics, but you've saved her!

Fact:
This guitar is cursed. It only wants to be blue. Any other color combination and something goes horribly wrong.
I finished the burst and as I was spraying the clear coat it literally jumped off teh hook and landed on a tree stump, taking a nice HUGE 7" gash out of the gold on the side of teh front. I can easily sand it it back... but the only color I have left is the Blue.
Hotrod promised this guitar it would be blue, and it will settle for no less.
Back to the drawing board... again!
Tuners are on their way, along with a roller bridge.

Just kidding. The light blue and gold burst was a cool idea but the dark blue is cooler.
matching pickguard and heastock is very nice. Reminds me of a '90s custom shop strat i saw.

god damnit. i did do a very basic curse on it, but that particular brand usually wears off after a year... interesting.
she is going to be stubborn, but with the persistence i know you have, you'll whip her bitch ass into shape in no time.
