"Amazing job, designers. It's beautiful. We at Shortscale.org really love it. One of our members went ahead and drew up a picture to properly explain to a FOOL why this guitar is so fucking cool. Attached is the picture. We thought you guys would get a kick out of it. Good day, and keep making fuckin' badass guitars."
What did you do that for? Do we really want to harass the good people at Gibson? What if we want to get in touch with them for another reason? Can you speak for 'us at shortscale?'
STFU.
it was funny. and good. and all that other stuff.

You don't represent Shortscale. You shouldn't be sending emails purporting to represent Shortscale. It's not really the consequences that I'm worried about. I'm not sure the forum should be contacting manufacturers in this way.

I kind of agree with Paul that emails like this should not be sent out in the name of the website. I think the pic was funny and forwarding it to epi was cool, but putting as if it came from this website was a stupid thing to do. I don't think pictures with the words dick and boner in it are a very good reflection on this site as a serious sight for musicians interested in short scale guitars. Again, I think it was funny, but it was poor thinking to forward it in a way that make it seem like to comes from here.
Either way, Oh well....

are you an ass on purposes or does it just come naturally. Not to pull out the Noob card here, but you just broke 100 posts an you are sending out questionable pictures with the ss.org name on them to major guitar makers and then getting defensive when posters say that maybe it wasn't the best idea. Chill The Fuck Out. As said, I have no problem with the pic itself, but most people would probabaly prefer some sort of professionalism if something is getting sent to a major manufacturer that appears to be coming from this site. That way if we ever feel the need to address said manufacturer they might take it seriously.

well, i guess it comes naturally cuz i didn't think i was being too much of an ass. i understand why you'd be concerned, but i think you and Paul should take your own advice and chill out yourselves. Your the only ones actually mad about this. Everyone else understands that its just a big laugh, and its no big deal. Fine, I shouldn't have used SS.org in that email, but i still dont think either of your reactions are fair or warranted. Just cuz i'm a noob doesnt mean you can fucking attack me after every two posts. jesus. if i wanted to be attacked and treated like an asshole i would've stayed at my old forum, thanks.

first off I didn't follow you around attacking you. Someone else brought up the point that it was not a good move and you got defensive. then I stepped in and sais that the combination of the email being in poor taste and you be defensive about it when it was addressed, was you being an ass. If I was new around a forum I would never even consider sending out emails of that type and linking the site to them. If a long standing member of said forum then turned around and said that was in poor taste, I would not get defensive, but maybe say something to the affect of "sorry, maybe I shouldn't have done that" and not gotten offended. You're not allowed to get mad when you walk into someone's house, piss on the carpet, and then some of the other guests say maybe you should use the bathroom next time...FFS..Internet much?

really, really? REALLY?! we're worried about a harmless fucking email that an auto-answering bot will not even read but rather will send a form reply to after it scans and picks up certain phrases like "really like" or "thanks"...
i weep for this place.

No Jimmy, I don't worry about it. I found the pic funny. I thought a new poster on here sending out an email to a manufacturer linking to this site was in bad taste, especially considering the topic. Him becoming defensive when someone told him it was in poor choice was what offended me. We clarified that and said our piece. drama is over.
And the guess who is better the green day.

this probably sums my feelings on people worried about misrepresenting this place, whether it be with a letter to epiphone, or a letter saying we don't support danelectro because they are homophobic ass pins:
we're not a multi-national fortune 500 company here...and besides, i think both instances are perfection.

But nobody sent a letter to anybody on the Dano issue representing Shortscale. It was discussed by long time forum members who still felt the need to ask and discuss it. Instead of taking it upon themselves to speak for an entire group of people.
