Do you think I will not be thinning my already modest number of instruments as a result of buying it?
Do you not think I waited until the right guitar at the right price came along to buy one?
Or is it because it's got a PCB in it that it sucks?
Do One.
Oh, I know you saved up for it - just poking fun at yr salty image. You're still way more responsible about your GAS than anyone else here.
Those dual-PUP sounds are truly beautiful.

I don't think I've been scolded by Mike for having to many guitars. And I do BTW
Some gentle ribbing perhaps.
It seems, Mike tends to operate a one in, one out policy. I know his Deluxe, Baja and Mustang have all been sold over the last couple of years to make way for new purchases.
Anyway Mike, what truly excessive amount of guitars do you have after buying this? A frankly decadent 4? or a huge 5?

I think the only person I can think I've told to stop buying guitars is Haze, because he owns like a million and shedloads of pedals and clearly needs an amp. He knows it's only in jest though
'66 Jaguar
CP Jaguar
Duo-Sonic II (project built from Robert (original) body with my Dad, will never, ever sell. It means a lot to me sentimentally)
CV P-Bass - I use in the band I'm in with Doog
I can imagine the CP Jaguar will be sold and a few people have expressed interest, so that's probably going to go. For the first time I've thought of holding onto a guitar after bringing another in, but I know what I'm like, I'm really monogamous when it comes to my guitars.

CV P Bass? Is that a Squier?

Yeah; sonic blue - it's cracking. I made a demo when I got it.

Tuners look massively clean. Different from those on the Duo i got from Pat, that are also late 65. Apart from that the Duo tuners have a plastic head, is the metal different?
Well, great stuff for big money. But well worth it I guess.
Cheers man. I don't know about the construction of the tuners to be honest, but these turn like new - they're sturdy enough to give you confidence in them without being stiff, I was really pleasantly surprised. Jags definitely aren't for everyone, they're really idiosyncratic things.
Had a quick look into the "bible"
http://jimshine.com
we see the first F tuners appear on the student line of guitars in the fall of 1965. They then begin to appear on the regular line in December on the Jaguar. (...) Typically these are chrome plated on metal button versions and nickel plated on plastic buttons.
So it is logic that those chrome tuners do not corrode that easy

I've got my eyes on my tube amp i'm looking for. I was just about to pull the trigger and all of the sudden they weren't on sale. even contacted the company to see what i could work out with them but they wouldn't budge.
NICE JAG!!! you well deserve it! you've been lusting too long for one and its high time. That bound neck is making me jealous to be honest. The burst is nicely faded too, almost tobacco looking. ENJOY IT!
imma go play my 64 now in celebration

Well done, Mike. Looks amazing, sounds amazing, is amazing. You got something you've always wanted. Enjoy it. Looking forward to all the future demos and recording you do with it. By the way you're CP is f'ing brilliant as well. I doubt you'll have much trouble selling that before the day is through.

The misses: "You know what, Mike reminds me of you if you were ten years older and british."
not too sure how to respond to that... but that was muttered while we were watching the demo. both pickups sound VERY good crunchy, you can tell you really enjoy playing it

haha No not as yet to be honest, I think it would be a weird moment if someone did. I think a lot of the Denmark St lot try and pretend the internet doesn't exist for the most part.

Thanks guys, really appreciate all the kind words of justification - it makes me feel a whole lot better about splashing the wonga.
All shortscalers are of course welcome to rock the socks off it when we next meet, it's sat next to me at work at the moment as I have rehearsal tonight, to say I'm excited is an understatement; my bandmates are going to be like "WTF Mike".

When he came to our fair county, he did introduce himself as Mike from the internet. I've never been so embarrassed.
