I've heard this before.

nah, more speakers will give you more volume. but it's not like a 2x12 is twice as loud as a 1x12. it's only increases things incrementally. as I understand it, each additional speaker should give you about a 3dB increase in volume. so a 4x12 should be significantly louder than a 1x12.

Doesn't more speakers just increase the percieved volume? Like, if the same amount of sound is coming from two or more sources instead of just one, it won't be any louder, but it will seem louder.

Ok- well at least
more speakers doesn't equal an linear volume boost

rob what fender amp do I see in all your vids, with the artsy grille?
its a Fender Performer 1000 combo 12" with an extra GE112" speaker under it.
it also comes in head form if you just want that and experiment with different cabs
they really ruined the asthetics of this amp when they turned the "performer" line into the "roc-pro" line. they just look like shit. they have the same guts on the inside though. im guessing they sell on ebay for even cheaper since they are so ugly.
i got the fabric from IKEA and just stapled it over the grille cloth thats already on it. i didn't even have to strip it, which is key if i ever get bored of birds and flowers.

ikea has all kinds of awesome weird fabric. check it out here.

412's sound really nice and bassy. Sort of richer. They are quite directional, though.
I've never used a 212, but I imagine it's the same deal, but less so.

Pretty much, a 2x12" gets you 90% of what a 4x12" gives you in thump. Miles better than a 1x12".

that last post came out wrong i think
on one hand im recommending he buy an amp like mine but then i said it sounds like shit.
to clearify i love the way my amp sounds the way i have it set up in 2x12 formation. im guessing you can buy the amp and the extra 112 all for under 300 bucks though.

That chick was hot. Even if there is the very real possibility of her being snotted up most of the spring.

I Loved the performer 1000 when I played through it at a guitar shop. Its a hybrid amp right? Like my cyber twin. I love hybrid combos, best of both worlds.
Also I am thinking about doing kinda the same thing to my grille cloth that you did rob. How is it stapled on there? Pictures up close?

i did a whole thread about it but i think it wouldn't make any sense now that i deleted my photo bucket.
i do have some saved when i did it to my little practice amp though. its the same idea. you just tear the whole thing apart, lay the fabric down upside down, bust out your brad gun, make sure its good and tight, and jam that shit in there.
