Jazzmasters are quite odd looking. Kinda like a deformed amoeba. I love their retro charm, but objectively they are not as ruggedly simplistic as a Tele, or gracefully symmetrical as a Strat, nor do they look as "handcrafted" as Gibson-style guitars. I think we are all so used to them and Jaguars that they look normal to us now, but if you can try to remember back when you first saw them (myself when I was like 13 or whatever) they probably seemed rather ugly to you (to me, anyways... and I didn't really care for the Telecaster shape back then either.)

I thought it was fake at first but its not, its real and costs just £77 lol. Comes with the usual 10 watt shitty amp and extras too.

Jaguars were the first guitars that attracted my attention, before that I had no interest in them. I saw Cobain's '66 in pictures and thought it was a really cool looking guitar.

Me too. Jags and Teles were my first GAS inducers. I just loved all the chrome on the Jag and the unusual shape. Teles were cool because they were simple and everyone seemed to have at least one.

The white ones with no stripes and no star inlays are okay but this one looks like it came out of a clown's ass.

I don't know what that Aeon guy is on about. Jazzmasters and Jaguars are probably the most aesthetically pleasing guitars around.

TRUTH. I remember back when I first started I only looked at SG's, LP's, and Strats. then I saw a Jag and JM and the guitar world got alot bigger.

Ugly guitar to me :

Image

-Flames on a guitar do not make you play faster
-Tele's only need 2 pick-ups
-GOLD HARWARE + MAPLE NECK = BAD

Don't get me wrong, I love them.. just saying that objectively they are a bit odd/ugly looking. But that's part of their charm.

Also the guitars I pictured happen to be mine.

But other people have just pointed out that, objectively, they are not ugly.

I've been rocking out on one of these exact guitars today (belonging to Dots) and it's very nice. The only thing I would change would be to have the pickguard and pickup mounting screws be black and then have chrome robroes for a minimalist look. I've never liked the pictures of them but It looks great in person.
