That's not bad, weird that the guitar is in the US but the auction is on ebayUK.
I'm going in an hour or so to pay the next 1/3rd on it. SOOOO CLOSE.

Man, these are awesome looking guitars! I really thought about getting one (seeing as how I'm cursed with leftiness too) but I just decided to get a White Jagmaster and turn it upside down.
I'll get pics of it up soon.
Nonetheless, Congrats!

I HAVE IT NOW.
There is a decent gash in the paint, but the wood underneath is fine. Honestly, considering what I'm about to do to this guitar, it doesn't even fucking matter.
This guitar is about to get
leftified
When I'm done I'll need a new pickguard, I'm drilling out the other side to move the controls to the proper place, I'm removing the pup selector and the neck pickup (which will be going into another project guitar), and I'll just have the volume knobs though I'm still not sure how I want to configure the second knob. I might take a look at how Peavey did the T60 and do some sort of series/parallel blend if I can with the stock bridge pup, still undetermined on that part so far. I'm also moving that stupid fucking strap button to the top horn where it ought to be.
The neck on this thing plays so fucking great too, it feels a bit like my Jag but more I suppose like Amy's 65 RI Stang did.

Looks awesome! Can't wait to see how this turns out, it's a bitch to find guitars you like left handed. Also what's up with the tape on your jag?

Speaking of
Leftyfied I always thought a Gibson Firebird V would look great leftyfied. If I was gonna buy one I'd have to be a left handed version that I'd string right handed... but they dojn't make a left handed one.

Pickguard is a bit of an off white, it looks like it was white but just "aged". This thing has obviously some wear to it.
The tape on my Jag is to keep the damn switches from getting hit when I'm rocking the fuck out. Painters tape does the job without leaving sticky glue everywhere like duct tape does.
I've been looking for some scrap materials to make the cover for the upper control bout until I can get a proper pickguard made. I'm still considering how I want to do the guard, as there's a lot of guard with the weird right-hand-attempt on this guitar.

Sort of. I'm dropping it down to just the bridge pup, removing the selector, but I don't like how much pickguard there is on that, and I kinds of like the white guard. I'm thinkin of doing a replacement white guard but with a small black piece to cover where the control plate used to be, but I'm still working all of that out.
I need it functional first and so it will just have a lot of tape covering it for a while.

I would fill in the gap where it was routed for the controls, and make the pickguard like that, but without the area over where the stock control route is, essentially, a left handed pickguard without the extra bit.

This is an interesting idea, however my recent experience with filling in such large areas with wood putty then sanding+painting, it would be a very long process to get it to look natural.
But then again....
