If anyone has access to the Is There Anybody Out There cd by Pink Floyd, Gilmour's guitar tracks are almost always laced with some sweet Mistress flanging, albeit subtle but it can be heard.
the sound of an electric mistress mixed with yamaha leslie cabinets and static cabs. i love gilmour's guitar sounds, always manages to mix it up.

there are so many good songs with phaser/flanger sounds in.

definitely early pink floyd for phaser sounds. early van halen, especially that first album. a lot of Rush albums use phaser, 2112 and fly by night are recommended.

suede had some really nice flanger sounds. plenty of rage stuff has flanger. again floyd stuff animals era onwards. led zeppelin used it later on, nobody's fault but mine is a flanger fest.

on the zepp theme, a fast phaser sound is perfect for recreating the no quarter rhodes sound on guitar.
