Doubtful. He has a list of healthy length - enough to keep him busy, not too long to piss people off, so I don't know why he would change his working practise.
Cheaper will just flood him with orders I suspect. I don't know of people failing the interview - being put off by it is another matter. I was disappointed by the stuff he wrote because I wanted to like him as the circuit is interesting, but it's a shame he made the magical diodes play.

LOLI foresee a market for re-housing old Klons into Behringer enclosures...The Centaur will become a non-gigging only pedal. Nobody will take it out for fear of stealing...
Anyway, apparently he's bringing it back in a new, smaller, enclosure.

Having gone through the process myself, I can say that it's not really an "interview". He doesn't quiz you to decide if you're worthy of his pedal. Having had the Klon for a while and tried it through a few different amps, I can attest to the fact that it sounds better with some amps than others. It's meant to be running thorough a tube amp that's already on the verge of breakup. The main thing he asks you is what gear you use, and gives his opinion on whether or not he thinks the Klon is suited for your rig. I have a Blues Jr and a Jazzmaster, and he thought that it would work great with that. If you're running a solid state amp or a software based rig or something it probably won't be the overdrive for you, but I highly doubt that he wouldn't sell one to you at that point.

Pleasure to have you chime in! It deffinately isn't suitable for every amp, I've had the chance to run it through several different tube amps and not all sounded great to be honest. Particularly a fender twin that didn't inspire me one bit and seemed rather lack-luster.
I agree with mikes statement, why change his product if it is already selling well? It's not like there is anything wrong with the size of the pedal and I think it looks great too.
