Right now, the color is dependant on the neck I'm getting, I'm hoping to find a cheap Bullet neck to put on it, but who knows. I'll prob have pics up either later today, or tomorrow

wait... did you make it a set neck?

Probably a 60s fender color, leaning towards a Fiesta/Dakota Red right now.
And yep, she's a set neck, twas a bitch to get the pocket leveled and the screws didn't line up with the existing holes. I basically got fed up and said, fuck it, I'm gluing this bitch in. And so it was done.
Just getting the bridge sorted out, and need to get some new strings to try it out and see if all the work paid off. Right now, I'm just in "slap it together and play" mode.

Go for Fiestaaaaaaaaaaa
Also, will the glue actually hold it?

The glue is doing a pretty good job of hold it so far. It has a couple thousand lbs of strength, according to the label. And yeah, fiesta's looking pretty good, now I just need to find a spray can of it, or something close, locally.

You'll probably only find it online or in a guitar shop. Might find something similar in automotive paints at a hardware store or a store that carries auto stuff. I found some that was sort of Fiesta-ish at a home depot, but it was a bit too pinky. I'm setting on a vibrant red for mine instead of messing with finicky colours. Check out a local guitar shop, they might have some in stock or be able to order it.

Cheers guys.
Local geetar shops don't really care finishing supplies other than the odd scratch filler and stuff. I'll prob just go check out what home depot has. As for the red, I'm not looking for the lighter pinkish fiesta, but almost more towards Hot Rod Red, so I shouldn't have too difficult a time finding a suitable paint. Its been a while since I've painted a body, so that should be interesting.
And serfx, finish the manland mig!

Hmmm that would look pretty amazing with a hot rod red. More of a flat, or metallic? My project was going to be a red/orange gradient, but I don't have anything to practice on and I've already fucked up once, despite the warnings I got.
Can't wait to see the finished project. Looks like it's going to rock.

^ No.
Yeah, Crappy Tire or Home Depot should have something, I just haven't had to look for spraypaint in a while. Plain red, no metallic. Cheers Serfx

i keep looking at picking one up, but haven't done so yet, but i can't for see a reason why it wouldn't be an awesome addition, plus no routing (an issue for me.. as i haven't quite got the right tools..)

Yeah, for me routing is a forstner bit, and this one looked like the cheapest/easiest option.
Also, I put some strings on it today, and the neck was starting to become unglued, so it looks like its gonna be glued and bolted in just for added stability.

Perhaps the glue didn't set right, or didn't have enough time to cure? Was the wood rough enough for it to adhere to? I've had that problem when building benches and cabinets.

The glue set fine, it came off cause it had a horrible bow, really high action, and my usual HEAVY gauge strings. I'm working on a way to get it all sorted out, hopefully I can get it up and running soon.
