Most of the American stuff looks good, but will probably be in a higher price range than I will be looking in anytime soon. The squier teles look pretty cool.
the 'thumbrest' changed it's usage.

it was never on the 'wrong side'

the bass players back in the day used there thumbs and had that 'rest' for the remaining fingers.

Do some research.

example, buddy holly's bassist. ( the one that got electrocuted )

BacchusPaul wrote:The joke sort of does work. Stevie Wonder wears ridiculously colourful clothing. This signature Dick Dale guitar is ridiculously colourful. It's fair to assume that it was Dick Dale who decided the colours on this guitar, so a joke can be made about him designing Stevie Wonder's wardrobe, just, it's not a very funny joke.

Unless Stevie Wonder designs his own wardrobe, in which case it doesn't make any sense.
i think mike's point is a joke needing that much explanation is one that missed the target. know your audience and all that. . .
Paul understood it with no explanation from me, he didn’t find it funny but he understood it. As for knowing your audience:

Thinline Deluxe, Black Dove Deluxe (P90s) and Tremolo Deluxe have been around for a while, they're not new. PGS demo'd them back in July.

I like that pickguard shape, I must be the only one.

I think the '72 Telecaster Deluxe in White with the Black pickguard is one of the prettiest guitars I've ever seen:

you're right, that pickguard looks perfect on a white tele. The ones previously pictured just sucked the potential out of my mind for that shape.
excuse me if that didnt make sense its 4:46am and i've gone without sleep for a few days. INTERNET INSOMNIA YES!

IMO, the deluxe pickguard is a huge improvement on the original design.

I loev it too - in fact, it's my favourite pickguard shape. I also prefer big pickguard SGs and reverse body Firebirds, and nobody likes those.

Is Dick Dale the guy who designs Stevie Wonders Wardrobe?
Don't you mean "Did Stevie Wonder codesign this?"

I don't know what your joke is supposed to hinge on exactly.

I love it! And at £299 isn't that bad!
