I've used both shielding paint and copper shielding in cavities. usually, the copper works best. I also stick a full size sheet on the complete backside of the pickguard so it touches the lip edge of it from the body. This encases the cavity and if all the grounds are done properly, it should be quiet. Tie all the grounds together and do a star ground too.
