Seriously amazing work. Looks so good with the tint on. I'm amazed how quickly you turned this around - honestly brilliant.

ya know, while I was doing this I was thinking a seafoam green body with a Daphne stripe would look awesome. Maybe my next project.......hmmmmmm.

Just watched the video... it is PURE AWESOME!

I'll be borrowing your methods/measurements for the stripe on my mustang bass.

I'm thinking next weekend it will be ready to sand and polish, that will have been 3 weeks and should be enough. I'll try the compressed air to get finish checking once it's buffed out and see how it goes.
For now it's just a waiting game.

Just wanted to drop a quick update. I planned on finishing up this past weekend, but I had too much stuff going on. I might be able to find time one night this week, if not it'll have to wait till the weekend.

Wet sanded and buffed out!
Pat, I tried doing the air can trick to get some finish checking, but it didn't do anything :[
Look at the last picture though, I might be on to something going that route. I'll let you know how it goes.
The first two pictures are after wet sanding with 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1500 and 2000 grit.
There is a spot where I sanded through near the upper horn. I let the paper get too dry and didn't realize it until I saw dust falling while sanding.
I did get some cool color differences by sanding off some of the tint coat, it's really noticeable on the stripe.

oh i'm loving it, as it is. incredible!!! :D
wonderful.

nah don't worry about that sanding spot, it will get more "abuse bumps and scratches" over time, you can bet! HA!

btw, no worries with the dust away trick... but, did you hold the can upside down? i tried it here on some cheap guitars and even those began crackling!
but no prob man.
she's wonderful, i can't wait!!!
cheers!

Pat.

HA! i'll re-do that pic but with mexi-beers, you'll see. oh and i promise, 1st gig out with this one i'll be wearing my old blackhawks t-shirt! it's full of holes and almost falling apart... but i've never had the heart to throw it out, cuz it was there in all those good ol' times of the 90s. and it's that nice thin thin cotton, like they don't make 'em no more!
pix WILL happen, of course!
